Job Description

*Partners with customers, sales, engineering and product teams to design, demonstrate and deploy Oracle Cloud architectures that address customer business problems. Drives Oracle Cloud customer consumption by accelerating the adoption of Oracle cloud services including discovery, design and deployment.
Engages with strategic customers, builds leadership relationships at multiple levels within organizations in order to design and implement solutions. Works directly with customers to gather requirements, develop architectures and translates business needs into solutions. May implement solutions and ensure successful deployments through code development and scripting. Displays product/application understanding through highly customized presentation demonstrations to customers, and at conferences, and events. Supports customer from Proof of Concept (POC) through production deployment of services via resource configuration, planning, and customer education/training. Creates and distributes technical assets (white papers, solution code, blog posts, and video demonstrations). Serves as a leading contributor for customers and sales on technical cloud solutions and customer success. Identifies gaps and enhancements to influence engineering roadmaps for customer driven features. Leading contributor, may provide direction and mentoring to others. Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. May interact with C level. Maintains expertise by staying current on emerging technologies.
Minimum qualifications include: 8 years experience with computer applications and tools required. Ability to travel 50% international and domestic. Preferred but not required qualifications include: Bachelor of Science-level university degree in Computer Science, Math, Engineering from accredited university; and/or relevant 8 years technical experience. Advanced degree in relevant field of studies highly desirable. Expertise in and an in depth and thorough knowledge of competitive and industry knowledge in the field of computer applications and tools; System and application design; Implementation of advanced product features; Project management; Solving technical problems with customers in technical environments; Written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills; Needs analysis, positioning, and business justification. 8 years experience and expertise in the clear communication of technical information to others through presentations, demonstrations, written communication and consultative solutioning experience., *

Dedicated Regions and Exadata Cloud@ Customer team is responsible for driving the development of the Soar , which is Oracle s Iaas/Paas/Applications strategy for enabling Oracle s existing On-Premises customers (our Installed Base ) and new customers to move efficiently and securely to the Oracle Cloud OCI platform. To deliver on this requires talented and ambitious individuals to Manage, Organize and Deliver high-quality and complete engagements that reflect the full Soar Value Proposition to our customers.

The Soar tools operates across our Installed Base as well all customer in the Iaas/Paas and application Domain and the Development team works collaboratively with all Lines of Business within Oracle, plus all Domain Leaders within Oracle cloud engineering. As a Soar developer on the Oracle cloud engineering team, you will have a hand in the design and delivery of a high-quality cloud service with the capabilities, scalability and performance needed to match the needs of Project team. You will need deep experience with designing and developing automated tools based solutions for solving real-world business problems with large and complex data systems.

Responsibilities

Work with Oracle Custom Dedicated Regions and Exadata Cl**d@Cu*****r team on the shared full stack cloud engineering and migration. The cloud architect will focus on helping customers determine the solution requirements and help move custom applications leveraging Oracle database onto Oracle s Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). The cloud architect will understand the end-to-end configuration, technical dependencies, and overall behavioral characteristics of production cloud database services. Responsible for the design and delivery of the mission critical stack, with focus on security, resiliency, scale, and performance. Authority for end-to-end performance and operability according to customer requirements.

Work with development teams in defining and implementing improvements in service architecture. Articulate technical characteristics of services and technology areas and guide development teams to engineer and add premier capabilities to the Oracle Cloud service portfolio. Understand and communicate the scale, capacity, security, performance attributes, and requirements of the service and technology stack. Demonstrate clear understanding of automation and orchestration principles. Act as ultimate escalation point for complex or critical customer issues as a customer first moves onto Oracle s cloud. Utilize a deep understanding of service topology and their dependencies required to troubleshoot issues and define mitigations. Understand and explain the effect of product architecture decisions on distributed systems. Identifies solutions to knowledge of server hardware and software configuration, networking, standard internet services, scripting languages, cloud computing patterns, technology security and compliance.

Solve complex problems related to infrastructure cloud services and build automation to prevent problem recurrence. Design, write, and deploy software to improve the availability, scalability, and efficiency of Oracle products and services. Design and develop designs, architectures, standards, and methods for large-scale distributed systems. Work Closely with Customer and/or Partners to bring Production workload on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. Facilitate service capacity planning and demand forecasting, software performance analysis, and system tuning.

Skillsets and Qualifications

Applicants who possess the following qualifications and skills would be suitable for this role

Mandatory Qualifications :

8-15 years software engineering experience

Bachelor s degree or equivalent work experience is desired; advanced degree desirable. BE, M-tech,B.S., M.S., or PhD. in Computer Science, Math, Physics, or another quantitative field

Good communication skills, with ability to clearly articulate engineering designs verbally and in writing.

Working experience in IaaS stack of any major Public Cloud provider Oracle, AWS, Azure, etc.

Working experience in any Database or Databases will be an added advantage

Scripting/coding skills (Shell, Perl and Python). Knowing Java, REST Architecture and JSON is a plus

Good Hands on Shell Scripting Knowledge & Linux commands

Nodejs Programming, Good Hands-on Knowledge on JavaScript Coding for Nodejs (Must)

Good Hands on Knowledge on Python Scripting

Desired Skillsets

- Broad based technology experience in:

- cloud computing

- relational databases

- Experience in a range of cloud migration discovery, profiling, migration, and operations technologies and tools

- Depth in various cloud migration patterns such as re-host, re-platform and refactor, ability to drive client discussions, develop

scope and effort estimates to address the different migration patterns.

- Ability to translate workload requirements into public cloud or hybrid cloud technical architecture, incorporating Compute, Networking

and Storage requirements in the architecture

- Ability to engage in discussions, white boarding, impactful prototypes and convincing technical arguments

- Awareness and knowledge of networking and latency considerations for different workloads

- Broad understanding of applications and systems from Oracle, Microsoft, etc.

- Ability to architect for high availability, fail over & disaster recovery in public or hybrid cloud environments

- Experience in migrating application workloads to the cloud (added advantage if such workloads include Oracle applications such as Oracle EBS, Peoplesoft, JD Edwards or Siebel
