Job Description
Urgent opening for the position of National Head/ Vice President - Projects division of one of our reputed clients in the Irrigation sector. The position is a national level position directly reporting to the MD and can be based in any of these cities - Delhi, Nagpur, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai/ Coimbatore, Kolkata, Ahmedabad as per the preference of the incumbent. He should be willing to travel frequently across the country.

Designation: National Head - Projects Business (VP level)
Reporting to: MD
Team Size: 30+ including Regional Sales/ BD, Project Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical), Site In-charge, Design Engineer, Technical Services, Commercial & other support services
Coverage: Pan-India
Work Areas: Small to medium size Lift Irrigation/ Water Conveyance/ Micro Irrigation/ Other Irrigation/ Watershed Management projects as initiated by Central Govt/ State Govt/ NGOs/ Corporate/ Local authorities
Job Role: Lead the projects division of the company right from project conceptualization, proposal presentation/ participation/ bidding in Govt as well private tenders, project viability study, project planning & budgeting, project execution & monitoring, liaison with relevant project awarding/ approving bodies, liaison with local administration/ MP/ MLA, drive growth and profitability the business unit in the long term
Relevant Work/ Industry Exposure:
- Either having EPC/ Technical/ Infrastructure project management as well as business development/ client relationship/ key account management background in Project/ EPC/ Infra sector with some exposure in Irrigation/ Water related projects
- Or having Institutional Sales/ Govt Sales experience in the Micro Irrigation sector with relevant technical expertise
- Candidates having Institutional Sales & overall Business Management (at least at Regional Manager/ Zonal Head level) experience in Tractor/ Pumps/ Solar Pumps sectors with some exposure of participating in Tendering or turnkey projects may also be suitable for the role
Education: BE - Mechanical/ Civil/ Agriculture with PGDM preferred
Experience: 22 - 26 years experience
Skills & Competencies:
1) Techno-commercial acumen with Leadership skills
2) Excellent project management skills
3) Commercial skills - Vendor/ Supplier/ Contractor management, Negotiation, Fund Management, Budgeting & Cost Control
4) Good understanding of Irrigation/ Water related projects
5) Hands-on with Design, Drawing, Estimation and Procurement
6) Experience and attitude for Business Development/ Institutional Sales, Client Relationship management
7) Network with relevant Government departments/ Ministry (both Central & States) including Agriculture/ Irrigation/ Horticulture/ Rural Development departments, local MPs/ MLAs/ Corporation/ Panchayat/ BDO etc.
8) Overall leadership and large team handling skills
9) Ability & vision to drive and grow the Projects division
10) Good communication skills & professional stability
