We are inviting applications for the role of VP, Operating Lead for Commercial Lending

In this role, Genpact Commercial Lending and Leasing Practice offers a dynamic work environment to work directly with Large and Mid-size Banks and financial institutions largely focused on offering products like Secured Loans, Revolvers, Subordinated Loans etc.

You will work closely with the junior, middle and senior management personnel of the client in originations, underwriting and portfolio management teams and will lead this team and be responsible for delivery of output for multiple clients.

You will be expected to be focused on Banking Financial Services & Capital Market industry s realities and pain points with a focus on commercial credit domain and know how to solve these using analytics and technology.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and communicate a powerful and compelling vision for the portfolio that inspires and engages people.
  • Lead, develop and motivate the OT leadership team to attract, retain and develop the capacity, capability, and talent to provide for succession and ensure delivery of objectives.
  • Set expectations, share best practice, and manage, monitor, coach and develop process excellence leaders and the wider delivery teams to ensure that they maximize their performance, meet the required standards, and continuously develop their capabilities and experience.
  • Drive and encourage constructive cross-country and cross-business teamwork by demonstrating collaboration and matrix management in action and taking prompt action to address any activities and behaviors that are not consistent with HSBC s diversity policy and/or the best interests of the business and its customers.
  • Maintain a strong focus on people development and ensure programme resources receive necessary training.
  • Drive a performance management-based culture to improve and drive efficiencies and performance including the effective management of underperformers.
  • Line manage the teams within Credit & Lending Portfolio, motivate and inspire the colleagues and drive proactive communications with respect to the Project Optimus (Global Operations CTA 2020-2022).

  • Must strong have Financial services organisation experience.
  • Proven track record of building, fostering and maintaining best practice solutions and tools to improve / optimise work flow, identify opportunities for synergy and integration, simply complex process and maximise production with fewer resources.
  • Demonstrated ability to build, maintain and navigate the organisation using formal / informal networking skills.
  • Experience in managing others indirectly and directing work efforts to achieve objectives effectively and efficiently.
  • Demonstrated ability to define a problem, assess it and propose solutions based on facts / data.
  • Lead process design activities and provide high-level strategic steer on design (using customer centric experience).
  • Good facilitation skills and experience in managing stakeholder requirements / design sessions.
  • Familiarity and experience with financial services business and governance models.

Knowledge of Credit & Lending

  • Ability to analyse large amounts of data and quickly draw conclusions on what the data means.
  • Ability to manage & engage multiple stakeholders, meet their expectations, negotiate in situations of conflicting interests and influence key decision makers in a positive manner.
  • Ability to maintain control, direction, and motivation in an ever-changing environment.
  • Proven Operations, Planning and Project management skills.
  • Sound understanding of Business related structure and objectives i.e. RBWM, CMB , Global Businesses/Functions etc.
  • Highly effective and persuasive communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Strategic outlook with the orientation to deliver projects involving wide dimensions and different nature of complexities.
  • Proven experience in setting organizational direction and communicating and implementing overall business goals.
  • Ability to work and influence decision making in matrix based environment.
  • Ability to understand and implement Group risk management policies.
  • High commercial orientation with the fundamental objective to reduce operating costs , improve efficiencies and enhance the service we deliver to the customer.
  • Global and/or multi-business experience in a business development domain.
  • Statistical ability to analyze complex numerical data and provide logical recommendations /observations.

Qualifications we seek in you

  • Typically, qualifications would include an undergraduate or postgraduate degree in Science, Business Administration, Engineering or a related field.
