Maintenance Supervisor - Mechanical | Pharmaceutical Industry
THE ROLE:
We are seeking an exceptional Maintenance Supervisor to lead a Mechanical Maintenance team for a well established Pharmaceutical Manufacturer based in South East Melbourne.
Reporting to the Engineering Manager the purpose of the Maintenance Supervisor is to achieve engineering/maintenance targets and implement a preventive maintenance culture through a diverse team of people providing leadership and guidance in GMP, OHS and cost control.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Ensures all maintenance tasks are executed using the appropriate safety standards and are compliant with policies, regulations and SOPs
Ensure that Maintenance Department targets are being met such as minimum down time and break downs
Conducting root cause analyses to identify machinery issues and diagnostic support
Supervise maintenance processes so that all works are completed as efficiently as possible and to the required quality standards
Review standard maintenance tasks and other relevant documents and to drive continuous improvement and efficiency
Manage the Mechanical maintenance team via effective training, mentoring, coaching, motivating, performance managing and communication
Maintain an understanding of the principles of GMP as applied to plant and equipment
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE/BE:
Tertiary qualified in Engineering or Trade qualified in mechanical
Experience in Pharmaceutical/Food or other FMCG industry within a development in a maintenance / production environment
Experience in a team leader or supervisor role in a maintenance environment
Demonstrated knowledge of GMP principles and OH&S requirements
Sound understanding of computerised maintenance management systems (SAP preferred)
Strong interpersonal skills and communication skills with the proven ability to coach and mentor staff
Excellent organisational, planning/resourcing and time management skills

Have great attention to detail and be able to prioritise effectively and to adapt to changing priorities
Able to set up new systems and review existing systems for continual improvement
