Job Title: District Project Manager

Location: Sabarkantha District, Gujarat

Experience: 4 to 8 Years

Salary Package: 7 Lakhs to 9 Lakhs per Annum (Depending on Experience & Exposure)

We are Hiring a District Project Manager (Gujarat) for our Not for Profit Client who are is an Indian not-for-profit, exclusively committed to eradicating child undernutrition, through a three-pronged approach of raising awareness, implementing direction intervention projects in vulnerable geographies and conducting research to understand the underlying causes of malnutrition and has touched over 7 lakh lives in India the past five years. They are a member of a leading global network working in more than 45 countries and supporting around 20 million people. They drive change from the ground up, to make this world free from hunger. Their work has impacted the lives of 15 million individuals globally, through a network of 7100 humanitarian professionals across 50 countries. In India, their operations focus on taking decisive action against the causes and effects of malnutrition. Through grassroots interventions, we equip people with knowledge and awareness, so they can see their children grow up strong, and enable whole communities to prosper. About the role:
The District Program Manager will be responsible for implementation support and analytical program monitoring of all field operations. The DPM will play a key role in providing strategic inputs for program design, drawing on operational experience to design and refine implementation approaches, processes, and tools, anticipating their feasibility and impact, and designing pilots to test alternative approaches. Being a lead at District level he/she will be responsible to coordinate with District level Government departments and with other Development Partners. The position will supervise team of Block and Field level staffs.Primary Responsibilities:
The role includes, but is not limited to:A) Strategic Program Planning and Design

  • Provide strategic inputs to the overall design of all Governments intervention approaches, initiatives and events related to improving nutritional status of children, pregnant and lactating women.
  • Support in development of standardized tools and guidelines for the program.
  • Use analytical frameworks for monitoring progress of all interventions against plans, including key performance indicators related to all program interventions


B) Support field teams and monitor performance

  • Provide directional support to Block Officer.
  • Conduct regular supportive supervision and monitoring visits to districts for onsite support to Block Officer and Field Coordinators.
  • Support in conducting ongoing/periodic assessments of program outputs and outcomes including causal analysis of progress or lack of progress.
  • Highlight the good practices and facilitate cross learning
  • Support implementation of capacity/skill building initiatives for District staff.
  • Identify inadequacies and irrationalities in generation and use of data at all program levels and guide and support corrective measures
  • Assess performances of each team member and provide required support
  • Assess and identify issues of concern in partnerships with government and development partners at regional, district and block levels


C) Other responsibilities:

  • Represent the org at various meetings with stake holders and present the work and build working relationships
  • Prepare and submit an action plan to the Chief of Party.
  • Track programmatic data and ensure quality of data captured from the field.
  • Coordinate with M&E team and implement the M&E processes
  • Submit donor reports as per timelines and ensure accuracy of data and quality of narrative reports
  • Track budget utilisation
  • Support Chief of Party in reviewing documents and reports received from the field teams
  • Conduct training needs assessment and support in conducting trainings. Communicate training needs to the State Program Manager and plan relevant trainings for the field team
  • Coordinate program procurement


Education and Experience

  • Medical degree or Masters/PGD in Nutrition or Public Health.
  • Minimum 4-8 years of operational experience in similar capacity managing large teams and working with government systems
  • In depth domain knowledge of nutrition/public health issues/mother-child health issues
  • IT proficiency and working knowledge of statistical software like MS Excel, Stata, R etc.

Compensation: Between 7,00,000 to 9,00,000 INR CTC per annum, the final pay will be decided based on experience and expertise.

Language Proficiency: Fluent in spoken and written English, working knowledge of Hindi and Gujarati would be preferredTravel: Must be willing to travel up to 50% of the Time for meetings and location visits
