Salary: Up to Rs. 22.0 Lac PA
Purpose of Position:
Develop plans and lead Cost Engineering activities to execute dispenser programs/ equipment dispensing liquids and gases at lowest possible product production cost.
This position will primarily focus on cost reduction activities on new products and getting the right cost before launch.
Develop and utilize competitive component and/or system cost analysis to recommend robust cost effective solutions.
Articulate available estimates, cost drivers, and content tradeoffs to Dispenser Teams.
Drive cost effective decisions to meet program financial targets, while supporting the execution of class leading Dispenser for the customer with strong proven leadership skills and project aptitude.
Key Responsibilities:
Schedule and conduct cost development/ cost reduction/ cost containment/ gap closure activities as required by Cost Plan or requested by Program manager/Chief Engineer for equipments dispensing liquids and gases such as CNG, LNG, and LPG etc.
Work with product team leadership to develop and maintain cost plan with timing to appropriately support program product cost objectives and product content changes for all assigned programs.
Initiate review of RFQ for part cost and support sourcing reviews, Pre-RFQ and Update Recommendation.
Understand all the influencing labor, process and material cost drivers for all components within a dispenser, also recommend best approach.
Understand and recommend material process that can help for new products like Extrusion, Fabrication, Injection molding, soft tooling etc.
Lead milestone and other Leadership reviews with Cost, Benchmark information pertinent to program execution.
Maintain alignment between PE BOM, Sourcing and Product Cost target.
Participate and support design reviews, PPDRS and product cost performance metric results for costing plan.
Provide input to design engineering on learnings needed to balance between cost vs performance.
Reduce part count by increasing the reuse of sub-component parts.
Drive competitiveness, evaluate process and design cost efficiencies.
Maintain repository/ library of all the previous historical cost analysis done for both internal and competition.
Work cooperatively with the product team to determine program specific requirements.
