Job Description
Requirement for the position of Air-conditioning Mechanic in BahrainMain Objectives
Performs various air-conditioning mechanical duties. This includes preventive maintenance, fault diagnosis, major repair rectification and overhaul work on the companys fleet of special aircraft ground support and handling equipment. In addition to a variety of light and heavy vehicle air-conditioning system.
Main Duties
Carries out various air-conditioning mechanical duties. This includes normal schedule servicing, defect diagnosis, dismantling, repair and overhaul of minor / major assemblies, testing to the rated specification and performance details on all Freon Gas refrigerating cooling systems. Moreover servicing large semi-hermetic and open type refrigeration compressors, electrical controls shut-down systems as associated with specialized air-conditioning equipment.
Completes daily inspections on Catering Hi Loaders to ensure that they are in good working condition and carries out the necessary repairs as required.
Ensures speedy and serviceable return of the equipment to the user department.
Conforms to company safety manual and department ISO 9000 procedures.
Ensure good housekeeping at work sites both during and upon completion of work.
Participates in the training for assistant Mechanics and apprentices.
Responsible for emergency repairs in Line Maintenance engineering; whenever completing the morning shift.
Carries out other similar or related duties as assigned by supervisor such as replacing other personnel when necessary.
Comply with the Company and Airport authorities health, safety, and security regulations.
Work Contacts
Contacts are usually limited to immediate associates. When on afternoon/night shift, then he/she may have contact with staff from Traffic, Catering, and Cargo and Engineering department at slightly higher level when dealing with an emergency situation
Independence Of Operation
Works according to established procedures and specialized engineering standards. Scheduled servicing and maintenance is subject to spot-checks, while unscheduled work is subject to full check.
Physical Effort
Approximately 95% of the work time is spent standing, walking while performing duty. Approximately 60% of the work time using the required tools to perform the work required.
Work Environment
Approximately 90% of work time is spent in the open area summer or winter in a non-air-conditioned environment.
Minimum Requirements
Completion of (12 years) technical education.
4 to 5 years experience or apprenticeship on large refrigeration / air conditioning system.
Good knowledge of written and spoken English.
Ability to use P.C
