  Responsibilities:

• Supervises and participates in the maintenance and operation of sea-going vessels.
• Inspects maintenance and repair work to insure procedures and materials comply with specifications.
• Recommends modifications and changes.
• Maintains preventive maintenance programs for marine equipment and vessels.
• Consults with research personnel in the design of marine equipment.
• Requisitions supplies and materials for maintenance and repair work.
• Maintains appropriate records and prepares various operating reports.
• Operates sea-going vessels.

Performs related work as required.
