What will you do:
- To look after the Fire Detection Laboratory and ensures/manages the all Lab related activities efficiently.
- Performs technical work in the maintenance, repair, calibration and installation of various electronic equipment like Fire Panels, Safety Devices
- Distributes and maintains laboratory test equipment/tools for Fire Detection Team members; and arranges for repair and calibration of major/minor electronics/mechanical equipment.
- Drives/Supports ISO and other internal Lab Audits and manage documentation related to same.
How will you do:
- Issuing Hardware Components and Equipment's to team members.
Have a track of the all the work request progress, quality of work done and time required to complete. This will help us to know how we are doing this front. - Should able to perform soldering, PCB rework-component assembly. Adjust or replace defective or improperly functioning circuitry or electronics components, using hand tools or soldering iron.
- Training to other GET s, new joiners and assessing the required level of competency in soldering etc.To support various prototype EMI /EMC testings.
- Inventory Management: Orders/Maintain component inventory as per requirement. Performs quality checks on newly delivered equipment to ensure proper operation.
- Check all lab electronics Mechanical equipment/tools functioning/calibration as required and maintain warranty, service and repair records/reports.
- Plan Schedule Internal Audit, 5s audit/Asset Audit, and Support ISO/External Audits. Prepare test set-ups, Installs new equipment, Panels, Devices and modifies current installations using various manual and power tools such as hand drill etc.
- Communicates with Vendors to obtain pricing and availability of needed parts, in order to develop various test set-ups/racks etc.
- Monitor lab usage and report any improper use inside the lab to the appropriate persons.
- Ensure smooth operations inside the lab and escalate for any issues. Inform and manage any break downs, e.g. power etc.
- To ensure Lab Safety Security. Implements security precautions and documents procedures and educate/drive the Lab Safety related sessions/instructions for FD Team.
- Check UPS and RAW power, Earth and ESD mat connection.
Working with other team members in getting the required details related to the lab. - Comply with Company standards procedures
- Reports to:Design Services Team Leader
- Supervises:No direct reports - may supervise Junior Technicians as needed
What we look for:
Knowledge Experience
- 5- 10 years of experience in Lab administration/Technician.
ABILITY TO: Perform skilled work repair/rework electronic hardware boards; perform skilled work in the repair, maintenance, and adjustment of various specialized electronic equipment; - use precision tools skillfully; keep current of applicable technology; follow and understand oral and written directions; train others in the use of varied equipment;
- maintain accurate records; maintain cooperative working relationships; demonstrate sensitivity to, and respect for, a diverse population.
- Should have KNOWLEDGE of: Electromechanical theory and practices; tools, materials, and equipment used in the repair and maintenance of electronics/hardware boards; safety precautions to be observed in the maintenance and installation of electronic systems and equipment.Good English
Training Qualifications
- University Diploma/Bachelor s degree in electrical/Electronic engineering or similar
