Job Description
Job Overview
As a BI developer, you will be solving some of the most challenging and exciting problems we have today. Our Data Warehouse, with your help will fundamentally provide the greatest backbone where complex and business performance data is analyzed. Your curious aptitude will lead you to creating interesting datasets and BI models. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, while helping to build the best business intelligence techniques available in the region. You will be responsible for designing and delivery of complex ETL integration streams, business analysis, requirements management, critical data migrations, data architecture design and developing tools to help us make the data architecture more robust and scalable. You will create unique value by preparing best in class dashboards, tabular models and KPIs for our teams in digestible, actionable ways.
Reporting: The BI Developer will report to Head of Business Intelligence
Responsibilities
- Administration of Data Warehouse and BI server system to be up to date with business needs.
- Simplify data integration architecture and further implement centralized overnight data processing streams (ETL) to process and insert incoming data from external sources into data warehouse.
- Database modelling, table design and implementation for Database and related ETL processes.
- Architect and deliver robust BI solutions compliant with approved standards and guidelines.
- Create project proposals and present to steering committee for approvals.
- Participate in requirements gathering sessions with the business and BI Team to understand business analysis requirements.
- Develop prototype views and reports of the data, and work with business users to refine their analysis requirements.
- Data analyst skills to determine root cause problems for data integrity and data quality issues identified through QA or by business report owners.
- Work with teams across functions (Operations, Marketing, Buying & Merchandising) to provide data architecture expertise and support over regular maintenance work.
- Be aware of potential blocking, deadlocking and write code to avoid those situations in SQL server.
- Maintenance of scripts and automatic routine jobs in BI data warehouse, carrying out routine administrative tasks in areas of SQL or SSAS as required.
- Package designs and Development in SSIS.
The BI Developer will be evaluated on a monthly basis against a comprehensive set of company-wide performance criteria. Speed and quality of execution as well as ability to grasp new concepts are highly regarded. Feedback is provided regularly through a robust performance management process

Skills and Requirements
- Substantial experience with the use of relational databases for data storage and analysis including fluency with using SQL for data extraction and management (MSSQL 2012, MySQL, etc.) and Microsoft BI tools (Excel Power Pivot, OLAP and MS Analysis Services 2012)
- Interest and knowledge in business intelligence, business/program analysis and reporting is a must
- Educated to degree level (ideally in Engineering, Computer Sciences or Information Systems) with proven outstanding academic career and minimum GPA 3.5 out of 4.0 (or equivalent)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (especially MS Excel 2010) is a must Results oriented individual with strong quantitative and analytical competencies
- Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and tasks at the same time
- Excellent written, communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work with tight deadlines in an extremely fast paced environment
- Experience dealing with large data sets would be an advantage
- Knowledge of Statistical analysis tools like SAS and SPSS would be a plus
- Previous experience in Business Intelligence department of ecommerce would be a plus
- Fluency in written and spoken in English is essential
