Senior Database Administrator @ ANSYS

Job Description

The Senior Database Administrator ( DBA ) plans, designs, implements, supports, and documents databases to support ANSYS business. This role is responsible for meeting data storage requirements, meeting database availability and performance guidelines, and collaborating with other IT functions to design, implement, and support end to end business processes. The Senior DBA is able to work independently with minimal supervision and may lead a team of developers for small projects.
While this role has a primary focus on Microsoft SQL Server, the successful candidate will also have documented experience as a system DBA in an Oracle database environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Supports, monitors, and configures the ANSYS SQL Server database environment
• Plan and forecast data storage requirements for MS SQL Server projects
• Plan, configure, and test of DR (Disaster Recovery) and HA (High Availability) database exercises
• Supports, monitors, and configures the ANSYS Oracle database environment
• Communicates impact of issues to senior IT and BU management
• Collaborates with other IT functions to design and implement solutions for complex problems, and understands end-to-end business processes
• Documents processes and procedures that contribute to ANSYS data best practices and standards
• Collaborates in designing and developing integration solutions and data migration strategies
• Leads and mentors other team members

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor s degree
• Minimum of 5 years of experience supporting CRM, ERP, HCM, website or other enterprise relational databases
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in database configuration and tuning, developing database backup and recovery solutions, high availability and disaster recovery configuration, and database monitoring
• Demonstrated ability working in collaborative team environments with other DBAs and developers, setting priorities, and achieving results
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor s degree in Computer Science preferred
