Candidate with piping engineering background from reputed Engineering companies with experience of refinery and oil and gas field and should have performed at least two jobs as a Lead / area lead Engineer.

Education: Degree in mechanical / Chemical Engineering.

Duration: 1 Year Contract

Experience: 10-12 years. Should have also worked at least 7 years in oil and gas and Refining Projects.

Functional Competencies:

  1. Should have worked as piping lead / area lead engineer for oil & gas and refinery projects.
  2. Should have detailed knowledge of piping layout engineering, & over view of material specification and pipe stress analysis.
  3. Must have experience of preparation of plot plan / equipment arrangement plan, Tie-in drawing generation.
  4. Piping study, according to design basis and plant layout.
  5. Must have handled Mid-level and large scale projects in oil and gas field.
  6. Should be familiar with some of the 2D-3D design softwares like SP3D, PDS, PDMS, and CAD Worx Auto CAD etc.
  7. Must be familiar with codes and standards.
  8. Should be expert in the requirements of piping designing & in standard piping modules like: pump piping, column piping, exchanger piping, tank piping, vessel / drum piping, pipe rack piping, haters / reformers piping, modular concept etc.
  9. Should have knowledge of various piping concepts like steam tracing, jacketed piping, IBR piping, firefighting, underground piping, basics of pipe supporting, and stress analysis.
  10. Should have knowledge of statutory regulations and requirements of refinery and petrochemical industry, like OISD, PESO, NFPA, API standards.

Interpersonal skills

  1. Review and monitoring of project throughout the project cycle.
  2. Good communication skills both in written and in verbal form in English, where clear conveyance of instructions and information down the line to all engineering departments will play a significant role.
  3. Should be innovative to try and develop new procedures to improve the productivity and quality.
  4. Training and development of designers - should be able train the designers who are not familiar with above listed activities. Monitor and mentor them with company specific tools and procedures.
  5. People Management Skills: Ability to train the people if required, review their performance regularly. Conduct periodic project reviews, understand the challenges faced by the team and resolve them.
