Job Description
- This role will support Compliance Data Lake including on-boarding of new feeds, able to understand and modify the current feeds and perform analytics on this data. The managerial role will be focussed on leading deliveries of an agile team with his technical and managerial acumen in Big Data Space.
- Act as a Scrum Master for data delivery team working in an agile fashion, on a large enterprise wide Hadoop based data platform.
- Serves as Technical Manager, responsible for delivering a Business specific outcome and features.
- Self-driven Technical individual with expertise in data processing projects with hands on experience on ETL, SQL and Hadoop Technologies
- Data Warehouse and data science knowledge will be preferred
- Understand the Best Practices and is responsible to implement practical solutions to complex problems.
- Get a thorough understanding of underlying business knowledge to support the product.
- Implement New Change Requests (CR) for Business and understand the Release Cycle.
- Adhere to Agile methodology, ensure requirements documentation complies with Agile and audit standards.
- Adhere to all Barclays, Group centre and compliance technology standards, policies and governance practices.
- Contributes to and use best practices and standards including Barclays Values & Behaviours.
- Play role of a Scrum Master and setup optimum delivery structure and operating model for Big Data Agile Team(8-9 members).
- Line manages a Scrum team - collaborate and manages their growth plan and contributions to the organization.
- Effectively work with a team of developers, BAs and other Team Member across different geographies.
- Proficient in standards implementation and understanding of operational constraints.
- Plans and Execute product activities with clear scope and acceptance criteria in line with Agile delivery methodology
- Effectively liaison with external teams including infrastructure, administrators, Data platforms, Data source providers, Architect forums, information security, risk management, accessibility, service owners, and other engineering and process defined teams. Ensure their engagement is not a Blocker for his/her team and is able to deliver with increased velocity.
- Manage Stakeholders ranging from Product Owners, Business Owners, CTO, Program Directors, etc.
- Contribute in end to end Process flows, Knowledge management, architecture, operational model and management.
- Bachelor s Degree
- Proficient with Agile methodology, should have hands-on Scrum Master experience and is aware of Project Management methodologies
- Relevant years of Hands-on experience in data domain with good knowledge on ETL and Big data platforms. Preferred skill set includes Ab Initio/Informatica, HDFS, Spark, Sqoop, Map reduce, Hbase, Hive, Impala,
- Relevant experience in working with multi-geography teams, responsible for mentoring and coordinating technical deliverables of Data Lake projects
- Quick learner; strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to deal with numerous tasks simultaneously and with frequently changing priorities.
- Effective decision maker with excellent risk acceptance appetite and mitigation skills
- Deliver value through productivity, efficiency and automation
- Result oriented approach with ability to provide apt solutions.
- Effective Communication and organizational skills, written as well as verbal
- Can work independently with minimum supervision.
- Experience with automation/Scheduling of workflows/jobs (via Autosys, shell-scripting, Tivoli)
- Solid Grasp of data storage formats (Parquet, Avro, HBase, Cassandra)
- Understanding of Agile methodologies as well as SDLC life-cycles and processes.
- Strong Understanding of Data warehousing and lakes
- Experience in BFSI domain or Compliance experience is preferred
- Experience in working on Cloud Infrastructure at an enterprise level
- Exposure to Data Analytics and Machine Learning will be an added advantage
- Familiarity with Tableau, Python or R is a plus
- Promote Automation, reusable components
- Demonstrable ability to communicate and build relationships with members of the business and technology communities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Must be independent and creative in approach to problems and issues; assertive, tenacious, proactive
