Job Description
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically proficient Data Analyst to support buy box analysis for a leading US-based ecommerce client. The ideal candidate will be adept at extracting and analyzing large datasets, building insightful Tableau dashboards, writing complex SQL queries, and applying Python for data processing and regression testing. This role demands strong business acumen within the ecommerce domain and the ability to translate data insights into actionable recommendations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Tableau Dashboard Development
- Design, build, and maintain interactive Tableau dashboards to monitor ecommerce KPIs including buy box win rate, pricing competitiveness, and seller performance.
- Translate complex analytical findings into clear visual narratives for business stakeholders.
- Ensure dashboards are refreshed, accurate, and aligned to client reporting cadences.
SQL Data Extraction & Manipulation
- Write optimized, complex SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and aggregation from large relational databases.
- Perform data cleansing, deduplication, and structural transformations to prepare datasets for analysis.
- Develop and maintain SQL scripts and stored procedures to automate recurring data pulls.
Python Data Analysis & Automation
- Write Python scripts for data extraction, transformation, and analysis using libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, and Matplotlib/Seaborn.
- Automate data workflows and reporting pipelines to improve team efficiency.
- Conduct exploratory data analysis (EDA) to identify trends, anomalies, and actionable insights.
Regression Testing & Buy Box Analysis
- Perform regression testing on pricing, inventory, and fulfillment data models to validate accuracy and consistency.
- Conduct buy box eligibility analysis by assessing seller metrics including pricing, fulfillment method, ratings, and inventory availability.
- Identify patterns and root causes of buy box loss and recommend data-driven corrective strategies.
- Collaborate with client teams to define KPIs and success metrics for buy box performance improvement.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Reporting
- Work closely with account managers, product teams, and client stakeholders to understand data requirements.
- Prepare and present regular analytical reports, summarizing findings and recommendations.
- Participate in sprint planning and daily stand-ups, adhering to agile methodology.
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
Technical Skills
- Tableau Desktop/Server Proficiency in building dashboards, calculated fields, parameters, LOD expressions, and data blending.
- Advanced SQL Strong command of JOINs, window functions, CTEs, subqueries, and performance optimization.
- Python (3.x) Hands-on experience with Pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib, Seaborn, and Scikit-learn for data tasks.
- Statistical & QA Regression Experience running and validating regression models and performing QA on analytical models.
- Buy Box Knowledge Understanding Amazon buy box mechanics, marketplace dynamics, and ecommerce seller metrics.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
- 25 years of hands-on experience in a Data Analyst or Business Intelligence role.
- Demonstrated experience working in or supporting US-based ecommerce accounts or marketplaces.
Soft Skills
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving ability.
- Excellent communication skills ability to present data insights to non-technical stakeholders.
- Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
PREFERRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
Cloud-Based Platforms
- Experience with AWS (Redshift, S3, Glue, Athena) or Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery, Dataflow).
- Familiarity with cloud-based data warehousing and ETL pipelines.
- Exposure to Azure Data Services (Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory) is a plus.
