Job Description
Role -Solution Architect
This role is responsible for leading engineering teams working across the end-to-end e-commerce ecosystem, including the digital storefront, commerce backend platform, content and product information systems, asset management systems, integration middleware, and enterprise backend systems.
The role requires providing overall technical leadership, architectural guidance, design oversight, and delivery governance across multiple teams working on the e-commerce platform and peripheral enterprise systems.
The ideal candidate should have strong experience in headless and composable e-commerce solutions, preferably in a B2B environment, and should be well versed in customization, enhancements, testing, integrations, deployment, and technical governance across the e-commerce ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
- Create / design scalable custom solutions and enhancements for the digital commerce ecosystem, including:
- Storefront / frontend
- Headless commerce backend platform
- CMS / PIM / DAM
- Integration middleware
- ERP / order management integrations
- Provide technical leadership and architectural guidance to engineering teams working across the e-commerce ecosystem
- Participate in the entire software development life cycle, including: Requirements gathering, Solution design, Development, Testing, Defect fixing, Deployment, Documentation
- Support, maintain, and continuously improve the existing e-commerce ecosystem for optimal functionality, performance, security, and scalability
- Design and maintain integrations with external systems and enterprise applications using:
- Web services / APIs
- Middleware platforms
- Event-driven integrations
- Drive integrations across the ecosystem, including:
- Storefront - commerce backend
- Commerce - CMS / PIM / DAM
- Commerce - ERP / order management
- Payment / Tax services
- Warehouse / logistics systems
- Third-party API Integrations
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, architects, and engineering teams to identify and implement system improvements and new capabilities
- Ensure compliance with security, architecture, coding, and development standards
- Lead technical design discussions, architecture reviews, and solution walkthroughs
- Drive technical code reviews and engineering best practices
- Support production releases, hot fixes, and deployment governance
- Provide technical support for multi-market rollouts, localization, and regional customizations
Skills and Experience
- Strong experience in leading cross-functional engineering teams of 1520+ members across multiple capability areas and providing technical leadership to ensure high-quality delivery of Continuous Improvements (CI), platform scalability, and engineering excellence across the e-commerce ecosystem
- Proven ability to drive technical ownership of CI roadmap delivery including enhancements, new feature development, market rollouts, platform modernization, and optimization initiatives across digital commerce platforms
- Strong experience in managing day-to-day engineering execution using JIRA / Agile delivery tools, sprint planning, backlog prioritization, release planning, and engineering delivery metrics
- 15+ years of experience in enterprise digital commerce solutions, preferably in B2B e-commerce environments, supporting complex customer journeys across web and mobile channels
- Strong experience in multi-market, multi-currency, and multi-language commerce implementations, including localization, regional configurations, and global rollout models
- Strong understanding of Headless and Composable Commerce Architecture, with experience designing and delivering decoupled solutions across storefront, commerce backend, content platforms, and enterprise systems
- Experience working across end-to-end digital commerce ecosystems, including:
- Storefront / Frontend (Web + Mobile)
- Commerce Backend Platform
- CMS / PIM / DAM platforms
- Middleware / Integration Layer / APIs
- ERP / Order Management Systems
- Payment, Tax, Warehouse, Logistics, and other downstream enterprise systems
- Strong understanding of microservices, APIs, event-driven architecture, middleware integrations, and distributed systems, with the ability to design scalable and resilient integration patterns across platforms
- Strong background in cloud-native architecture, design, and development using enterprise cloud platforms (Azure preferred) including API gateways, serverless functions, integrations, and monitoring frameworks
- Experience in GitHub / source control tools is mandatory; strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines, deployment governance, release management, and production readiness is preferred
- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming concepts, modular design principles, and implementation using enterprise backend technologies such as Java, .NET, Node.js, or equivalent server-side platforms
- Strong working experience in HTML, JavaScript / TypeScript, CSS, and modern frontend frameworks (React / Next.js preferred), with understanding of responsive UI and headless storefront patterns
- Experience working with SQL / NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, DynamoDB, Cassandra, Azure SQL, or equivalent enterprise data platforms
- Strong experience in engineering quality practices, including: Continuous Integration, Unit Testing, Static Code Analysis, Automated Integration Testing, Performance Testing, Continuous Delivery
- Proven understanding of Scrum, Kanban, and Agile delivery principles, with the ability to lead engineering teams in fast-paced product and platform delivery environments
- Strong hands-on experience in technical solution design reviews, architecture reviews, code reviews, and cross-system impact analysis, ensuring maintainable, scalable, and high-quality solutions
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment, balancing delivery commitments, technical debt management, and platform stability priorities
- Excellent verbal and written communication, stakeholder management, and collaboration skills to work effectively with business teams, product owners, architects, engineering teams, and external vendors
