Job Role: QA Automation Engineer (Playwright)

Job Location: Chennai

Experience Required: 5+ years of dedicated experience in QA Automation with Playwright

Notice Period: Immediate to 30 Days

Job Description

Overall Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automation test scripts and frameworks using Playwright and other tools
• Collaborate with QA and development teams to understand testing requirements
• Develop test cases and automate end-to-end test scenarios
• Execute automated tests and analyze results to identify regressions and defects
• Integrate automation tests into CI/CD pipelines for continuous testing
• Maintain and improve existing automation frameworks and scripts
• Track, report, and verify bug fixes and improvements
• Ensure comprehensive documentation of testing processes and test cases
• Stay updated on latest automation tools and best practices

Technical Requirements

Automation Tools:

• Playwright (mandatory), Selenium WebDriver

Programming Languages:

• Java, Python, JavaScript, TypeScript

Test Frameworks:

• TestNG, JUnit, Mocha, Jest

API Testing:

• RestAssured, Postman, SoapUI

CI/CD Integration:

• Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI

Version Control:

• Git

Containers & Cloud:

• Docker, Kubernetes (optional)

Test Management & Bug Tracking:

• JIRA, TestRail

Day-to-Day Activities

• Develop and maintain automation scripts for UI and API testing
• Review testing requirements and design automation strategies
• Execute automated test suites and analyze results
• Integrate automation tests into CI/CD pipelines
• Debug and troubleshoot automation failures
• Collaborate with developers and QA team members to reproduce and resolve issues
• Update existing frameworks and create new reusable components
• Create detailed reports on test execution and defects

Qualifications & Soft Skills

Qualifications:

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
• Proven experience with Playwright and other automation tools
• Relevant certifications in testing automation or related fields are a plus

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Self-motivated and proactive attitude
• Ability to adapt quickly to changing technologies and priorities
• Attention to detail and high standards of quality
