Job Description: Power System Engineer Intern / Trainee
Location: New Delhi
Type: Full-Time

Role Overview
We are looking for a Power System Engineer Intern with strong fundamentals in power systems and hands-on experience in Python-based modelling and simulation of Power distribution system. You will work on grid simulation, analytics, and optimization using modern open-source power system and data science stacks.What Youll Do
- Build and simulate power system network models (distribution)
- Perform steady-state and time-series analysis for DER integration (solar, EVs, storage)
- Work on real-world grid planning use cases: hosting capacity, congestion, loss analysis
- Process and analyze grid datasets: topology, load profiles, DER generation
- Contribute to scalable analytics pipelines for power system studies
- Collaborate with engineering, data, and software teams on integrated workflows
Core Responsibilities
- Develop models using OpenDSS, PowerModelsONM, pandapower, PyPSA, and other such python libraries
- Perform time-series simulations
- Run load flow, voltage, congestion, contingency and loss analysis
- Implement optimization workflows
- Work with geospatial grid data
- Analyze DER scenarios (solar PV, EV charging, battery storage)
- Build reproducible analysis pipelines and document assumptions/results
Required Skills
- Strong fundamentals in Power flow / load flow analysis, Transmission & distribution systems
- Ability to interpret single-line diagrams & network models
- Python proficiency with: pandas, numpy, scipy, matplotlib, networkx
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving ability
- Clear written and verbal communication
Preferred (Nice to Have)
- Hands-on experience with pandapower, PyPSA, OpenDSS
- Exposure to Time-series simulation & scenario analysis, Optimization (linear / mixed-integer), etc.
- Familiarity with DER datasets such as, Solar profiles, EV charging, load curves
- Knowledge of Unbalanced distribution systems, Grid modernization (DERMS, flexibility markets), etc.
Eligibility
- Bachelors/Masters in Electrical Engineering (Power/Energy Systems preferred)
- 01 year experience (freshers with relevant projects encouraged)
