Job Description
About the Role:
We are seeking a Python Backend Engineer for the development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) enabled applications in Commercial Lending area. The candidate should have strong background in building scalable, resilient, and highly available microservices Gen AI enabled application. This role focuses on building and operating Pythonbased backend services that support analytical workflows, AIassisted processing, and documentcentric use cases. Team member will work with Wells Fargo India and onshore partners and implement the required solutions.
In this role, you will:
- Build Large Language Model (LLM) powered applications that support powerful capabilities for internal Wells Fargo users, with a focus on agentic workflows, prompt engineering, evaluations, and safety guardrails.
- Build systems utilizing Large Language Models (LLM) involving data ingestion pipelines, reliable service orchestration, backend application state management, and data layer implementation.
- Design, code, test, and document solutions aligned with business objectives and enterprise standards.
- Collaborate and consult with key technical experts and crossfunctional technology teams to resolve complex technical challenges.
- Participate actively across the full software development lifecycle, from design, development through deployment and support.
- Responsible for application development, maintenance, and adherence to security requirements
- Collaborate with US partners for requirement understanding and solution discussions.
- Collaborate with Product Team, Scrum Master, Developers, QA and any other stakeholders as needed.
- Stay current on emerging technologies in AI to continue to the strategy discussion for future capability development.
Essential Qualifications (Technical Skills):
- 7+ years of backend application development experience, with strong proficiency in Python and NoSQL database MongoDB.
- Strong handson experience with Agentic AI frameworks (any one of Google ADK (preferably) Langchain, Langgraph) and tools in cloud environments. Proficiency in designing and developing multi-agent systems with one of the listed frameworks where multiple AI agents collaborate to achieve complex tasks.
- Experience building GenAIenabled solutions, including RetrievalAugmented Generation (RAG) and agentic workflows, with a solid understanding of prompt engineering, grounding, and extensibility.
- Indepth experience with Python libraries and tools such as NumPy, Pandas, and PyMongo.
- Design, develop, and deploy Pythonbased microservices using FastAPI FastAPI.
- Design and implement secure REST APIs for consumption by a React application. Consume services provided by interface systems.
- Implement eventdriven architectures using messaging platforms such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or ActiveMQ for asynchronous processing.
- Experience working with Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers and clients to securely expose internal services, APIs, and data stores to LLMs. Experience on FastMCP.
- Strong experience writing complex MongoDB queries and performing data aggregation.
- Understanding of cloudnative principles with handson experience developing applications in cloud environments; OpenShift (OCP) experience is preferred.
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub, GitHub Actions, Harness, JFrog Artifactory, Sonar, OpenShift/Kubernetes, and Docker.
- Experience with automated testing frameworks including Pytest and MagicMock.
- Working knowledge of ML and NLP concepts, including GCP services such as Document AI, Information Retrieval, Summarization, and LLMs.
- Experience working in an Agile software development lifecycle.
- Understanding of high availability, scalability, and resilience in microservices based enterprise systems.
- Ability to design and implement efficient multithreading and concurrency in backend services.

- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills with the ability to reason through complex problems independently or collaboratively.
- Ability to mentor team members on solution design and implementation best practices.
- Good written and verbal communication
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to navigate team dynamics and exercise sound judgment to achieve outcomes.
