Job Title: Middleware Support Engineer / Application Support Engineer (WebSphere & Integration)
Experience: 4-7 Years
Location: Mumbai / Pune
Shift: UK Shift (2:00 PM 10:00 PM IST)
Role Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Middleware Support Engineer with hands-on experience in WebSphere Application Server, IBM MQ, Oracle, and Linux environments (RHEL). The role involves supporting business-critical applications, ensuring system stability, troubleshooting incidents, and working closely with development and infrastructure teams. Exposure to BizTalk integration platforms will be considered an added advantage.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer, configure, and support IBM WebSphere Application Server (WAS) environments.
- Monitor and manage IBM MQ queues, queue managers, and messaging infrastructure.
- Provide L2/L3 production support for enterprise applications hosted on RHEL/Linux platforms.
- Perform database queries, troubleshooting, and performance checks in Oracle environments.
- Develop and maintain shell scripts for automation, monitoring, and operational efficiency.
- Diagnose and resolve application, middleware, and integration issues within SLA timelines.
- Participate in incident management, problem management, and root cause analysis (RCA).
- Support deployments, configuration changes, and environment setup activities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including development, infrastructure, and client stakeholders.
- (Bonus) Support BizTalk environments including configuration, troubleshooting, and integration workflows.
- Maintain documentation, SOPs, and knowledge base articles.
- Ensure compliance with operational and security standards.
- Open to short-term onshore travel to the Client site.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 4-7 years of experience in Middleware / Application Support roles.
- Strong hands-on experience with:
o IBM WebSphere Application Server administration
o IBM MQ / Messaging concepts
o Oracle database (basic queries, troubleshooting)
o Linux (RHEL) administration and shell scripting
- Understanding of application architecture, integration patterns, and production support processes.
- Experience working in ITIL-based support environments (Incident, Change, Problem Management).
- Good analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Good to Have
- Experience with Microsoft BizTalk Server support.
- Exposure to monitoring tools and automation frameworks.
- Knowledge of DevOps practices or CI/CD pipelines.
- Certification in WebSphere, MQ, or Linux.
Soft Skills
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently in a client-facing environment.
- Flexible to work in UK shift (2 PM 10 PM IST).
- Willingness to travel onsite for short-term assignments if required.
