Education Qualification: Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field or higher with minimum7 years of relevant experience.

Position Description: We are looking for an experienced and passionate Cassandra Database Administrator to join our dynamic product development team. In this role, you will be a cornerstone of our database infrastructure, ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of our production Cassandra clusters. The ideal candidate is a hands-on expert with a proven track record in managing large-scale production databases, possessing deep insights into performance tuning, data modeling, and administration. You will be a key contributor to the overall design and implementation of our product, bringing your database expertise to the forefront of our innovation.

Your future duties and responsibilities
Administration
o Design and deploy new Cassandra clusters, ensuring they are built for high availability, fault tolerance, and optimal performance.
o Own the health and stability of all development, testing, and production Cassandra database environments.
o Manage and maintain the entire lifecycle of our Cassandra clusters, including setup, configuration, and decommissioning.
o Implement and manage robust backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and availability.
o Automate routine administrative tasks through scripting and other automation tools.
Performance
o Proactively monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and lead performance tuning efforts.
o Analyze and optimize queries, data structures, and cluster configurations for maximum efficiency.
Design & Modeling
o Collaborate with the development team on data modeling and schema design to ensure optimal database performance and scalability.
o Provide expert guidance on data architecture and best practices for using Cassandra effectively.
Support
o Act as the primary point of contact for all Cassandra-related issues, providing timely troubleshooting and resolution.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role
Must-Have Skills:
o Proven hands-on experience managing production Cassandra environments.
o Deep expertise in Cassandra performance tuning, including compaction strategies, caching, and JVM tuning.
o Strong understanding of Cassandra data modeling principles and best practices.
o Solid experience with Cassandra administration, including installation, configuration, and monitoring.
o Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to perform under pressure.

Good-to-Have Skills:
o Experience with other NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Redis).
o Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and managing Cassandra in a cloud environment.
o Knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
o Experience with data migration and ETL processes.
o Contributions to open-source projects, especially in the database space.
