Data Engineer (ELT & Modern Data Platforms)
Role: Data Engineer
Experience: 5+ Years
Location: Bangalore
About the Role
We are looking for a skilled Data Engineer with strong experience in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and ELT solutions. The ideal candidate should have solid hands-on expertise in modern data engineering practices, cloud-based data platforms, and large-scale data processing. Experience with platforms such as Snowflake and Databricks will be highly preferred.
This role requires someone who can work closely with business stakeholders, analysts, and engineering teams to build reliable and high-performing data solutions that support analytics, reporting, and advanced data initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize scalable ELT/data integration pipelines.
- Build and maintain data workflows for batch and near real-time processing.
- Develop robust data models and transformation logic for analytics and reporting.
- Work with structured and semi-structured datasets from multiple source systems.
- Implement data quality, validation, monitoring, and performance optimization processes.
- Collaborate with business and technical teams to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Support cloud-based data warehouse and lakehouse implementations.
- Optimize SQL queries, data pipelines, and storage strategies for performance and cost efficiency.
- Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to best practices in data engineering.
- Ensure data governance, security, and compliance standards are followed.
Required Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in Data Engineering or ELT development.
- Strong expertise in SQL and data transformation frameworks.
- Experience building ELT/ETL pipelines using modern data engineering tools.
- Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and dimensional modeling.
- Experience working with cloud data platforms such as:
- Snowflake
- Databricks
- Hands-on experience with at least one cloud ecosystem such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Good understanding of orchestration and workflow management tools.
- Experience handling large-scale datasets and performance tuning.
- Knowledge of Python, Spark, or Scala is an added advantage.
- Familiarity with CI/CD and DevOps practices in data engineering environments.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with lakehouse or modern data architecture patterns.
- Exposure to real-time or streaming data processing.
- Experience with data governance and data quality frameworks.
- Certifications in cloud or modern data platforms are a plus.
