Role & responsibilities
We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to join our team, specializing in the commercial lending domain. The ideal candidate will act as a vital link between our business stakeholders and technology teams to deliver cutting-edge solutions for our commercial loan platforms. You will be responsible for analyzing business needs, documenting requirements, and ensuring that our technology solutions effectively support the entire commercial loan lifecycle.

Requirements Management
Elicit, analyze, and document business requirements, translating them into functional specifications, user stories, and business process models.
Stakeholder Collaboration
Act as the primary liaison between business units (including underwriters, loan officers, and credit analysts) and IT development and QA teams.
Process Improvement
Analyze and model existing business processes within the payments and commercial lending lifecycle (from origination to closing and servicing) to identify opportunities for improvement and automation.
Solution Design
Work with solution architects and development leads to design and validate technology solutions that meet business requirements.
Testing & Validation
Develop UAT (User Acceptance Testing) plans and test cases, and coordinate testing activities to ensure the final solution meets business needs.
Documentation
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including Business Requirement Documents (BRDs), Functional Requirement Documents (FRDs), and process flow diagrams.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Must-Have Experience:
- Experience: 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst.
- Commercial Lending Domain: Deep understanding of the end-to-end commercial loan lifecycle, including origination, underwriting, credit analysis, servicing, and closing.
- Requirements Elicitation: Proven experience in gathering requirements through workshops, interviews, and document analysis.
- Agile/Scrum: Experience working in an Agile development environment, creating and managing user stories and backlogs.
- Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to bridge the gap between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Technical & Functional Skills:

Specifics
Domain Knowledge
Payments, Commercial & Industrial (C&I) loans, Commercial Real Estate (CRE), lines of credit, syndicated lending.
Financial Analysis
Understanding of financial statements, credit risk assessment, and collateral management.
Regulatory Knowledge
Familiarity with banking regulations such as KYC, AML, and other relevant compliance standards.
Methodologies
Proficient in Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Tools
Experience with JIRA, Confluence, Visio (or similar process modeling tools).
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with major Loan Origination Systems (LOS) or loan accounting platforms.
- Knowledge of lending-related data and reporting.
- Familiarity with SQL for data analysis purposes.
- CBAP (Certified Business Analysis Professional) certification is a plus.
