Your future duties and responsibilities
We are looking for an experienced Senior ETL Tester to join our data platform team. You will be responsible for ensuring the quality, accuracy, and integrity of our data integration processes. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in ETL testing methodologies, strong SQL skills for data validation, and hands-on experience with Informatica PowerCenter. You will play a critical role in verifying complex data transformations and business logic to ensure the reliability of our data solutions.
Responsibilities:
. Analyze business requirements and technical specifications to create comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scenarios.
. Execute detailed test cases to validate Informatica workflows, mappings, and transformations.
. Write and execute complex SQL queries to perform data validation, data integrity checks, and source-to-target data comparisons.
. Identify, document, and track defects throughout the testing lifecycle using a defect tracking tool.
. Collaborate closely with ETL developers, business analysts, and project managers to understand requirements and resolve issues.
. Perform various types of testing, including functional, regression, performance, and end-to-end testing of ETL processes.
. Create and maintain clear, concise, and comprehensive testing documentation.
. Certify the quality of data before it is released to production environments.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
Must-Have Skills:
. 3+ years of experience in ETL/data pipeline testing with manual/automation.
. Solid understanding of ETL processes, data warehousing concepts, and data quality validation.
. Proficient in SQL with experience querying large and complex datasets.
. Experience testing structured/unstructured data in environments like Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Snowflake.
. Familiarity with tools like Git, Jenkins, or similar for version control and CI/CD.
. Good understanding of file formats like CSV, JSON, Parquet, and XML.
Good-to-Have Skills:
. Experience with ETL test automation tools and frameworks.
. Knowledge of scripting languages like Python or Shell for test automation.
. Exposure to cloud data platforms (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks).
. Informatica and/or ISTQB/ASTQB certifications.
. Experience with Agile methodologies.
