Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced Snowflake Architect to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of our enterprise data platform on Snowflake. The ideal candidate will have deep technical expertise in Snowflake architecture, cloud data warehousing, data modeling, and system integration. As a strategic technical leader, you will drive data platform modernization and support scalable, secure, and high-performing data solutions across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Architect end-to-end Snowflake-based data solutions, including ingestion, transformation, and consumption layers.
- Define and enforce data architecture standards, best practices, and governance frameworks.
- Design efficient data models (star/snowflake schemas, data vault, etc.) optimized for performance, scalability, and cost.
- Lead the migration of legacy data systems to Snowflake from on-prem or other cloud platforms.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, data engineers, and analysts to define data requirements and ensure alignment with business goals.
- Develop and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines using tools like dbt, Fivetran, Matillion, or custom solutions.
- Implement data security, access control, and role-based permissions within Snowflake.
- Drive the integration of Snowflake with other tools in the modern data stack (e.g., AWS/GCP/Azure, Airflow, dbt, Tableau, Power BI).
- Monitor and tune Snowflake performance and cost efficiency using Snowflake best practices.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to data engineers and developers.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or data warehousing.
- 3+ years of hands-on architecture experience with Snowflake.
- Strong knowledge of SQL, data modeling, and data warehousing concepts.
- Deep experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Expertise in ETL/ELT tools like dbt, Informatica, Talend, or similar.
- Familiarity with CI/CD, DevOps practices, and version control tools like Git.
- Experience implementing data governance, data quality, and metadata management.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
Preferred Qualifications:
- SnowPro Core and/or SnowPro Advanced Architect Certification.
- Experience with streaming data architectures (e.g., Kafka, Spark).
- Background in compliance with data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
- Experience in vertical-specific data architecture (e.g., financial services, healthcare, retail).
