Job Description
Role & responsibilities
Role & Responsibilities Overview:
- Ensure accuracy, reliability, and overall quality of Power BI and SQL deliverables
- Perform end-to-end validation of data pipelines, transformations, and reporting outputs
- Validate dashboards, reports, and data models against business requirements
- Review SQL queries, stored procedures, and ETL processes for correctness and efficiency
- Conduct data profiling and source-to-target validation to ensure data integrity and consistency
- Develop and execute QA strategies, test plans, and test cases for BI and data solutions
- Perform functional, data, regression testing, and support UAT cycles
- Identify, track, and resolve defects in collaboration with development teams
- Validate performance and ensure adherence to database and reporting best practices
- Ensure proper implementation of data security, including row-level security (RLS)
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address gaps and improve quality standards
- Provide final QA sign-off on deliverables before client submission
- Work effectively in a fast-paced, global delivery environment across time zones
Candidate Profile:
- Bachelors/Master's degree in economics, mathematics, computer science/engineering, operations research or related analytics areas; candidates with BA/BS degrees in the same fields from the top tier academic institutions are also welcome to apply
- 46+ years of experience in Data QA, BI QA, or Analytics QA roles
- Strong proficiency in SQL (query validation, data analysis, performance tuning concepts)
- Hands-on experience with Power BI (report validation, DAX understanding, data modeling concepts)
- Knowledge of ETL processes and tools (SSIS or equivalent)
- Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and data validation techniques
- Experience in insurance analytics domain preferred
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on data accuracy and quality
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, continuously evolving environment
- Experience working in cross-cultural, global teams
