Automotive Concept Design EngineerWe are looking for Engineers experienced in Automotive sector for our center in Bangalore.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare the geometry for manufacturing using technologies such as 3D printing, machining, CNC cutting, or manual construction.
Collaborate closely with ergonomists, designers, and model makers to ensure the proposed geometry allows for effective physical evaluation.
Manage design updates based on conceptual decisions, validation feedback, and changes in requirements.
Create basic technical documentation (simplified drawings, assembly instructions, parts sheets) when necessary for the model workshop.
Verify dimensional consistency between 3D models and reference data (H-point, accessibility criteria, enclosures, etc.).
Ensure deadlines are met and provide rapid solutions when the model requires accelerated iterations.
Prepare model evaluation scenarios according to design requirements and validation protocols.
Record observations, measurements, problems, and comments during the sessions.
Analyze the results and prepare ergonomic validation reports (conclusions, deviations, recommendations).
Present the conclusions to the design, packaging, and ergonomics teams, and to project stakeholders.
Feasibility analysis of the roof area (front, including headlights, hood, and fenders) and side area (rear door, side panel, fenders and door trim, D-pillar trim, tailgate assembly, and rear bumper assembly) of the exterior surfaces that we will receive periodically from the Design department.
Feasibility analysis of the interior surfaces (dashboard, door panels, center console, pillar trim, trunk) that we will receive periodically from the Design department.
Preparation and updating of anchor point files for the areas mentioned above.
Preparation/updating of conceptual sections, development of "Designpasses," and various feasibility studies related to the implementation of the design and/or platform.
Documentation for these tasks must be generated in the following formats: CATIA and PowerPoint.
File sharing and documentation must be done via Connect for CAD and Teams for office documentation.
Technical Requirements (Must have): between 3 and 6 years of experience working in automotive sector:
Proficiency in CAD software (Catia V5/V6, NX, SolidWorks, or similar)Mandatory.
Knowledge of 3D printing and rapid manufacturing.
Ability to work with Class A surfaces or styling models when necessary.
Familiarity with physical mock-ups, prototyping, and workshop processes.
Technical Requirements (Desirable):
Personal Skills:
Ability to work in agile and highly iterative environments.
Fluency in English is essential.
Excellent communication skills with multidisciplinary teams (ergonomics, design, packaging, workshop).
