Job Description
Refex is building intelligent, enterprise-grade transportation systems for corporates. We focus on large-scale employee transportation, where reliability, optimisation, and cost efficiency directly impact business outcomes. We are currently in a core build phase, designing data-driven systems that power routing, scheduling, allocation, and operational decision-making at scale.Role Overview
We are looking for a hands-on Data Scientist / Data Science Engineer who enjoys solving real-world optimisation problems. This role is not limited to model experimentation. You will work on designing, building, and deploying production-grade intelligence systems that improve operational efficiency and reduce transportation costs for enterprises. You will collaborate closely with engineering, product, and operations teams to translate complex mobility problems into scalable data solutions.Roles and Responsibilities: Intelligent auto-routing and dynamic trip allocation
Scheduling and rostering optimisation for employee transport
Supplydemand balancing across fleets and time windows
Cost-effective and cost-balanced transportation planning for enterprises
AI-driven decision systems using ML and GenAI approaches
Building scalable data pipelines and production ML systems
Key Responsibilities Design and implement machine learning and optimisation models
Translate operational constraints into mathematical or algorithmic solutions
Deploy and monitor models in production environments
Work with large datasets to extract insights and improve decision systems
Evaluate trade-offs between accuracy, latency, cost, and scalability
Continuously improve system performance using feedback loops
Required Skills & Experience 2+ years of hands-on experience in Data Science / Machine Learning / AI
Strong programming skills in Python and SQL
Solid understanding of statistics, ML algorithms, and data modelling
Experience deploying ML models into production systems
Comfort working with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure
Strong problem-solving mindset with systems thinking
Experience in optimisation, routing, or scheduling problems
Exposure to Generative AI / LLM-based systems
Experience working in logistics, mobility, or enterprise SaaS environments
