Job Description
ROLE SUMMARY
The Hardware Testing Engineer will be responsible for validation and testing of high voltage battery systems and BMS hardware for EV applications. The role focuses on ensuring safety, reliability, and performance of battery packs under various operating conditions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and execute test plans for high voltage battery systems and BMS hardware
- Perform functional, electrical, thermal, and endurance testing of battery packs
- Validate cell behaviour, module performance, and pack-level integration
- Conduct charge/discharge cycle testing and performance analysis
- Support thermal testing, abuse testing, and safety validation
- Perform data logging, analysis, and test reporting
- Identify failures and drive root cause analysis (RCA) with design teams
- Support prototype validation, field testing, and lifecycle testing
- Ensure compliance with EV battery safety and regulatory standards
- Coordinate with external labs for battery certification and validation
Key Skills & Experience:
- 3+ years of experience in Hardware Testing
- Hands-on experience in high voltage battery testing (cells, modules, packs)
- Strong understanding of Battery Management Systems (BMS)
- Knowledge of Li-ion battery characteristics, safety, and degradation mechanisms
- Experience in charge/discharge testing, cycle life, and thermal analysis
- Familiarity with battery testing equipment (cycler, thermal chamber, DAQ systems)
- Understanding of high voltage safety practices and automotive battery standards
- Exposure to CAN-based data monitoring and diagnostics
- Experience in EV / automotive battery system
