Job Description
Hi,
We are hiring for one of India's leading IT & consulting organizations for the position of Copy Editors Role.
Summary
Copy Editors are accountable for ensuring that content is clear, grammatically correct, consistent, and readable, without altering the authors intent. Their focus is on language hygiene rather than content creation.
Key Skills
- Minimum 4 years of work experience in editing and proof reading of Medical and Scientific Writing documents.
- Strong expertise in scientific and clinical copy editing, ensuring accuracy in grammar, terminology, and content clarity
- Proficient in quality review, formatting, and adherence to global editorial standards and guidelines
Key Responsibilities
- Provide copyediting and proofreading support for clinical and scientific documents, including manuscripts, abstracts, posters, and slide decks, ensuring accuracy in grammar, language, and compliance with regulatory, publication, and marketing requirements
- Ensure adherence to client templates, style guides, and standardized editorial practices across deliverables
- Develop and follow checklists to maintain consistency in language, terminology, and formatting as per client requirements
- Maintain high-quality standards and consistency across all documents and communication channels
- Deliver projects within agreed timelines while meeting defined quality benchmarks
- Contribute to process improvements, innovation, and best practice sharing to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve turnaround time
- Well versed with MS Office, and Adobe Acrobat.
- Degree in life sciences, pharmacy or related field
- Ability to manage templates, maintain consistency, and deliver high-quality content within defined timelines
- Support the development and enhancement of copyediting and proofreading capabilities across teams
- Assist in creating and updating SOPs, templates, and editorial guidelines
- Identify process gaps and implement improvements to streamline workflows and enhance quality
- Build and maintain strong relationships with client stakeholders through high-quality deliverables and effective communication
- Identify training needs and participate in domain-specific learning and development initiatives
- Conduct knowledge-sharing sessions to promote best practices within the copyediting team
- Strong expertise in editing scientific and clinical content
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail with a meticulous and quality-focused approach
- Proactive, flexible, and self-motivated work style
- Strong planning, coordination, and interpersonal skills
