Job Description

Job Title: Desktop Support Engineer - Manufacturing IT Location: Work Mode: Onsite Work Schedule:- Rotational 24x7 shifts (9-hour shift including 1-hour break)- 1 fixed day off per week Experience Required: 2-4 years of experience in desktop support, with prior experience supporting a manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities:- Provide onsite desktop support at the manufacturing plant, including: - Desktops and laptops - Barcode and MRP printers - Handheld barcode scanners, fixed scanners, RF scanners- Support production line IT infrastructure and ensure zero/minimum downtime- Identify and diagnose issues quickly, providing immediate solutions or effective workarounds to prevent production halts- Handle IT incidents, service requests, and changes using ServiceNow or similar ITSM tools- Monitor and manage tickets in line with defined SLAs, escalating where necessary - Perform hardware/software troubleshooting, installation, and configuration- Document incidents and resolutions for knowledge sharing and continual service improvement- Coordinate with L2/L3 teams or vendors for escalations when required Skills and Qualifications:- Solid understanding of IT fundamentals (Windows OS, hardware, networking basics, etc.)- Hands-on experience with manufacturing-critical IT equipment- Working knowledge of ServiceNow or similar ITSM platforms- Familiarity with Incident, Problem, and Change Management processes- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced production environment- Strong communication and interpersonal skills- Diploma/Degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (preferred) Preferred Certifications:- A+, N+, ITIL Foundation (optional but advantageous
