Position Summary... What youll do...

About Team:

EMF team as a part of the Enterprise IoT Platform offering within the Physical AI group of Walmart. Our team builds reusable and scalable device connectors that aid in acquiring telemetry from various devices present in our stores, clubs, and distribution centres. We focus on near real-time data acquisition to enable multiple end-user applications across asset health monitoring, associate experience and safety usecases. EMF team is responsible for design, development, and day-to-day operations of containerized modules running on the edge and processing billions of telemetry messages daily across 4800+ Walmart sites.

What youll do:

  • Write efficient and quality code that can work @ Walmart scale
  • Learn various aspects of applied IoT and its relevance in enabling business usecases across various device types
  • Be comfortable in learning to operating across the communication stack : from low-level device protocols such as BACNet/Modbus all the way to REST APIs and websockets
  • Proactively take End-to-end ownership of your business stories including development, deployment and daily operations.
  • Be responsible for L3 on-call support on a need basis.
  • Adopt Walmart s quality standards and develop and recommend process standards and best practices across the retail industry
  • Research, learn & adapt new technologies to solve problems & improve existing solutions
  • Participate in events to build innovative solutions
  • Adhere to company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity.

What youll bring:

  • B.E/B.Tech from a reputed institution.
  • Minimum of 5 years of solid Java experience.
  • Strong experience with Java 21 or later and the Spring Framework.
  • Must have hands-on expertise in building containerized backend components.
  • Proven experience with design & development of scalable RESTful microservices.
  • Ability to own and independently execute on tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Fast learner and quickly adapt to new technologies.
  • Exposure to IoT and associated technologies will be a plus
  • Exposure to low-level devices protocols like BACNet/Modbus will be a plus
