Job Description
Role & responsibilities
IT Infrastructure Management
- Maintain and monitor hospital servers, systems, and network infrastructure
- Ensure uptime of HIS, EMR, LIS, RIS, PACS, and other applications
- Manage LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, firewall, and internet connectivity
2. Software & Application Support
- Oversee Hospital Information System (HIS) operations
- Coordinate with vendors for software upgrades and issue resolution
- Ensure proper functioning of billing, pharmacy, lab, and clinical systems
3. User Support & Training
- Provide technical support to hospital staff for IT-related issues
- Conduct training sessions for employees on system usage
- Maintain helpdesk and ensure timely issue resolution
4. Data Security & Compliance
- Ensure data backup, recovery, and disaster management plans
- Maintain confidentiality of patient data as per regulatory requirements
- Implement cybersecurity measures (antivirus, firewall, access control)
5. Hardware Management
- Maintain computers, printers, scanners, biometric devices, etc.
- Coordinate AMC (Annual Maintenance Contracts) and vendor services
- Ensure timely repair/replacement of faulty equipment
6. IT Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain IT asset register and inventory
- Prepare reports on system performance and downtime
- Document SOPs for IT processes
7. Coordination & Vendor Management
- Liaise with software vendors, internet providers, and service partners
- Manage IT procurement and budgeting requirements
Key Skills Required:
- Knowledge of Hospital Information Systems (HIS)
- Networking (LAN/WAN, Firewall, VPN)
- Basic server management (Windows/Linux)
- Troubleshooting hardware & software issues
- Data security and backup management
- Vendor coordination

The IT In-Charge is responsible for managing and maintaining the hospitals IT infrastructure, ensuring smooth operation of all systems including HIS (Hospital Information System), network, hardware, and software. The role ensures data security, system uptime, and user support across departments.
