Job Title: Senior Software Engineer (AS/400 Developer) Location: PAN India Job Summary: We are seeking a Senior AS400 Developer with 3 to 7 years of experience in RPG and CL programming. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining AS400-based applications. This role requires an individual who is knowledgeable about the latest AS400 OS versions, programming language enhancements, and industry best practices. The Senior Software Engineer will primarily develop and maintain programming code for new and existing software on the AS400 platform. The role requires the utilization of RPGLE, including free form and embedded SQL, and CL400 for application development. The candidate will be expected to follow established programming standards and guidelines to ensure high code quality. The candidate will also need to understand the system architecture to support software updates and customer support during the initial learning phase. The role requires considerable discretion in handling sensitive or confidential data. The Senior Software Engineer will be expected to collaborate with team members to ensure high-quality deliverables and efficient development processes. Roles and Responsibilities: - Design, code, test, and debug RPG and CL programs on the AS400 system.
- Participate in all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for AS400 applications.
- Work closely with business analysts and other developers to translate requirements into functional applications.
- Ensure the timely completion of assigned tasks to meet project deadlines.
- Maintain positive contributions as a member of the programming team.
- Assist in maintaining knowledge of other computer systems and data storage types relevant to AS400 environments.
- Support integration efforts with other systems as needed.
Mandatory Skills:
- Proficiency in AS/400, AS400 - RPG, CL/400.
- Strong understanding of AS400 OS versions and programming language enhancements.
- Knowledge of industry best practices regarding AS400 development.
Qualifications:
- Must have 3 to 7 years of experience in RPG and CL programming.
- Proven experience in developing and maintaining AS400-based applications.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
