Job Title: GCP Cloud Engineer
Location : Chennai
Exp : 8-12 yrs
Job Summary
We are looking for a hands-on GCP Cloud Engineer with practical experience in designing, developing, deploying, and supporting cloud-based data and application solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The ideal candidate should have strong working knowledge of Cloud Data Fusion, PostgreSQL, and Cloud Run, along with a solid understanding of cloud architecture, data pipelines, API-based integrations, and production support.
Key Responsibilities :
Design, build, and maintain scalable cloud solutions on Google Cloud Platform.
Develop and manage data ingestion and transformation pipelines using Cloud Data Fusion.
Work extensively with PostgreSQL for schema design, query optimization, data migration, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
Deploy and manage containerized applications and microservices using Cloud Run.
Integrate cloud services with databases, APIs, storage systems, and external applications.
Monitor and optimize cloud workloads for performance, reliability, scalability, and cost.
Troubleshoot production issues related to pipelines, cloud services, application deployments, and database performance.
Implement secure cloud engineering practices including IAM, secrets management, network access control, and logging/monitoring.
Collaborate with data engineers, application developers, DevOps teams, and business stakeholders for end-to-end delivery.
Support CI/CD processes for deploying cloud-based services and solutions.
Create technical documentation, deployment guides, and operational runbooks.
Required Skills
Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
Practical experience in Cloud Data Fusion for data integration, ETL/ELT pipeline development, and batch processing.
Strong experience in PostgreSQL, including:
writing complex SQL queries
performance tuning
indexing
schema design
data migration and troubleshooting
Hands-on experience with Cloud Run for deploying and managing containerized services.
Good understanding of GCP services such as:
Cloud Storage
IAM
VPC
Logging and Monitoring
Secret Manager
Pub/Sub
Experience with Docker and container-based deployment.
Knowledge of REST APIs, service integration, and cloud-native application design.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Good communication and documentation skills.
