- Partner with engineering and product teams to attribute costs to teams, build forecasts, and identify key cost drivers.
- Partner with Finance to maintain alignment between financial plans and cloud cost reporting.
- Build and improve real-time cloud cost dashboards, forecasts, and stakeholder-ready reporting.
- Define, track, and maintain cloud cost KPIs, scorecards, and standard metrics.
- Perform optimization analysis (rightsizing, commitment-based discounts, waste reduction) and quantify savings opportunities.
- Support cost allocation, anomaly detection, and variance analysis; surface insights and recommended actions.
- Create and deliver stakeholder presentations, dashboards, and data visualizations highlighting observations, learnings, and recommendations.
- Contribute to the FinOps roadmap, including process improvements, stakeholder onboarding, and tool recommendations.
- Establish strong working relationships with key stakeholders to drive adoption of FinOps best practices and ways of working.
- Bachelors degree in finance, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent relevant experience).
- 2 -5+ years of experience in Cloud FinOps, cloud cost management, FP&A, cloud platform operations, or technical financial analysis.
- Working knowledge of AWS, Azure, or GCP billing and pricing models, including discount mechanisms (RIs, Savings Plans, CUDs).
- Strong analytical skills with advanced proficiency in Excel.
- Experience with cost allocation, forecasting, anomaly detection, and optimization analysis.
- Experience partnering directly with engineering teams and translating cloud usage into financial insights.
- Familiarity with FinOps frameworks and best practices.
- Experience with BI and visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar.
- FinOps Certified Practitioner and/or cloud provider certification (preferred, not required).
- Experience building or maturing an enterprise FinOps capability, including stakeholder enablement and governance.
- Experience with tagging/labeling strategy, chargeback/showback models, and unit economics.
- Understanding of cloud architecture concepts (compute, storage, networking) to connect technical design decisions to cost outcomes.
- Ability to travel (up to 25%) if needed.
