About the Opportunity
Episeio Business Solutions is a specialist recruitment and executive search firm. We are hiring on behalf of a well-known retail client a fast-growing, data-driven organisation with Power BI at the heart of its business intelligence function across merchandising, pricing, promotions, and customer analytics.
We are looking for Power BI Developers across three levels L1 (Lead), L2 (Senior), and L3 (Consultant). Shortlisted candidates will be assessed and matched to the right level based on experience, technical depth, and fitment.
Levels & Compensation
L1 Lead Analytics Consultant (Power BI)
Senior | 5+ Years | CTC: 2230 LPA
- Owns end-to-end BI architecture, governance, and strategy
- Leads a BI team with 23 direct reports
- Drives Power BI adoption and standards across the organisation
- Reports to Head of Analytics / VP Analytics
L2 Senior Analytics Consultant (Power BI)
Mid-Level | 23 Years | CTC: 1620 LPA
- Independent BI developer builds and owns dashboards end-to-end
- Strong delivery focus; no team management
- Reports to VP Analytics
L3 Analytics Consultant (Power BI)
Junior | 12 Years | CTC: 816 LPA
- Assists in report and dashboard development under senior guidance
- Structured learning and growth role
- Reports to Lead Analytics Consultant
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities vary by level. In this role you will be expected to:
- Design and develop dashboards, visual reports, and KPI scorecards in Power BI
- Connect to data sources and clean and transform data via Power Query
- Write and debug DAX measures, calculated columns, and time intelligence functions
- Build and publish tabular data models
- Schedule and manage reports via Power BI Service
- Translate business requirements into effective, actionable visuals
- Support publishing, workspace management, and data quality checks (L3)
- (L1/L2) Manage Power BI dataflows, gateways, and workspace governance
- (L1/L2) Connect and optimise across Azure tools Databricks, Azure SQL, ADF
- (L1) Own BI architecture end-to-end modelling, DAX, composite models, incremental refresh
- (L1) Define and govern Power BI workspace standards, RLS, OLS, and Power BI Premium policies
- (L1) Lead design of KPI scorecards and executive dashboards; mentor junior developers
- (L1) Drive Azure ecosystem adoption Databricks, Synapse, ADF, SQL DW
Skills & Competencies
Must-Have
- Power BI Desktop report building, data sources, visuals (all levels)
- DAX from basic measures and calculated columns (L3) to advanced composite models and incremental refresh (L1)
- Power Query (M language) for data shaping and transformation
- SQL basic to intermediate (L3); complex, performance-optimised queries (L1/L2)
- PySpark / Python for data transformation (must-have at L1/L2; good to have at L3)
- Tabular and multidimensional data modelling
- Power BI Service publishing, refresh policies, workspace management
- (L1/L2) Azure tools Databricks, Azure SQL, ADF
- (L1) RLS, OLS, and Power BI Premium governance
- (L1) Deep data warehouse knowledge star and snowflake schema
- (L1) Leadership, mentoring, and executive communication
Good to Have
- Custom Power BI visuals (JavaScript / TypeScript)
- Power BI Embedded or REST API integration
- CI/CD pipelines for BI Azure DevOps, XMLA, Tabular Editor
- RLS implementation in Power BI
- Azure Data Services Databricks, Azure SQL, ADF (for L3 candidates)
- Retail analytics or customer loyalty domain knowledge
- Basic Python or PySpark for data wrangling (L3)
Qualifications & Experience
- B.Tech / B.Sc in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field
- MBA or advanced BI certification is an advantage (strongly preferred at L1)
- L1: 5+ years in Power BI / Business Intelligence
- L2: 23 years in Power BI / Business Intelligence
- L3: 12 years; freshers with strong internship experience and excellent communication will be considered
