Software Engineer - UI/UX Developer This role has been designed as Onsite with an expectation that you will primarily work from an HPE office.

What you will do:

Responsibilities:

Designs enhancements, updates, and programming changes for user interface portions and subsystems of hybrid cloud software, including monitoring dashboards, support tools, network utilities, and cloud-based applications.

Analyzes UI/UX design requirements and determines coding, programming, and integration activities required using ReactJS, Python, and modern frontend frameworks based on general objectives and knowledge of overall cloud architecture.

Creates detailed mockups, wireframes, and interactive prototypes for assigned application portions; develops and executes complete testing plans, protocols, and documentation for UI components.

Writes and maintains frontend code using ReactJS and Python integration; identifies, debugs, and creates solutions for issues with user interface code and integration into hybrid cloud application architecture.

Leads a project team of frontend developers, UX designers, and internal/outsourced development partners to develop reliable, cost-effective, and high-quality user interface solutions for TSE and PEAK team support systems.

Collaborates and communicates with management, Technical Support Engineers, PEAK team members, and development partners regarding UI/UX design status, project progress, and user experience issue resolution.

Represents the frontend engineering team for all phases of larger and more-complex hybrid cloud development projects, ensuring optimal user experience for support operations.

Provides guidance and mentoring to less-experienced frontend developers and UX designers on best practices in React development, Python integration, and cloud-native UI design.

What you need to bring:

Education and Experience Required:

Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Human-Computer Interaction, or equivalent.

Typically 6-10 years of expert-level experience in frontend development and UI/UX design.

Proven experience with enterprise cloud environments and technical support tool development.

Knowledge and Skills:

Expert-level proficiency in ReactJS, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3, and responsive design frameworks.

Strong experience with Python programming for backend integration and API development.

Advanced expertise in UI/UX design tools (Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite) and mockup creation.

Experience with micro-frontend architectures, cloud-native development, and hybrid cloud platforms.

Knowledge of enterprise monitoring solutions, network management tools, and technical support workflows.

Frontend testing methodologies, including automated testing, debugging tools, and performance optimization.

Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies and DevOps practices.

Experience with version control systems (Git), CI/CD pipelines, and collaborative development environments.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with focus on user experience optimization.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to effectively communicate design proposals and technical solutions to TSE, PEAK team members, and management levels.

Experience working in multi-site, distributed engineering teams supporting global operations.

  • React front-end contribution (new views, UX improvements, UI reflects status/telemetry)
  • Participate in CI/CD pipeline maintenance, code quality enforcement, linting, and security scanning
  • Explicit participation in Agile ceremonies (sprints, stand ups, planning, retrospectives)
  • Nice to haves
    • Write and maintain SQL queries for PostgreSQL and MySQL, including schema migrations
    • Containerization + deployment tooling (Docker + Nomad job specs)
