The Security Officer is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for all employees, visitors, plant assets, and infrastructure at the plant. This role involves implementing security policies, supervising security personnel, monitoring plant premises, and coordinating with local law enforcement when necessary.---
* Supervise and manage security staff deployed across the ethanol plant, warehouses, gates, and other critical areas.
* Ensure proper deployment of security personnel on all shifts (day/night/rotational).
* Conduct regular inspections and patrols of plant perimeter, buildings, and restricted areas.
* Monitor CCTV surveillance, access control systems, and alarm systems for irregular activities.
* Ensure strict control of entry and exit points for employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery vehicles.
* Verify identity credentials (employee cards, visitor passes) and maintain visitor logs.
* Issue temporary passes and ensure visitors are accompanied when required.
* Respond promptly to security breaches, safety incidents, thefts, fires, medical emergencies, trespassing, or suspicious behavior.
* Coordinate with fire brigade, medical response teams, and local police when needed.
* Prepare incident reports with timelines, witnesses, and actions taken.
* Support implementation of safety standards, protocols, and emergency evacuation drills.
* Enforce compliance with plant regulations, safety procedures, and government statutory requirements.
* Ensure security personnel are trained in first aid, basic firefighting, and emergency response.
* Maintain accurate daily security logs, attendance records, patrol reports, and incident documentation.
* Prepare periodic security performance reports for management review.
* Record and document lost & found items, security breaches, investigations, and corrective actions.
* Safeguard plant infrastructure including machinery, storage tanks, raw material yards, and finished goods.
* Monitor storage and movement of critical equipment to prevent theft, pilferage, or sabotage.
* Coordinate with plant departments (HR, Operations, Maintenance, Admin) for security requirements at events, shift changes, and visitor movements.
* Liaise with local law enforcement and emergency services as required.
Educational Qualification
* Additional certification in Security Management, Industrial Safety, or Fire Safety is preferred.
Professional Experience* experience* as Security Officer / Supervisor in industrial plants, refinery, chemical, ethanol plants, or heavy manufacturing units.
* Experience with CCTV, access control systems, and documentation is an advantage.
