Job Title: Power BI Developer

Location: Pune

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Power BI Developer to join our Data & Analytics team. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in designing, developing, and maintaining business intelligence solutions using Microsoft Power BI.

You will work closely with business stakeholders, data engineers, and leadership teams to transform raw data into meaningful insights through dashboards, reports, and data models.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI Desktop
• Develop complex data models using DAX
• Implement data transformation and data preparation using Power Query
• Connect to multiple data sources including SQL databases, cloud platforms, APIs, and flat files
• Optimize report performance and data refresh strategies
• Implement Row-Level Security (RLS) and data governance best practices
• Publish and manage reports in Power BI Service
• Collaborate with Data Engineers working on Azure Databricks and data pipelines
• Work with stakeholders to gather business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
• Provide ongoing maintenance, enhancements, and production support

Required Technical Skills

• 4+ years of hands-on experience in Microsoft Power BI
• Strong proficiency in DAX
• Strong SQL knowledge (complex joins, CTEs, performance tuning)
• Experience with Power Query (M language)
• Experience in data modeling (Star Schema / Snowflake Schema)
• Understanding of ETL concepts
• Experience working with cloud data platforms (preferably Microsoft Azure)
• Knowledge of data warehousing concepts
• Experience in integrating Power BI with REST APIs or third-party tools

Preferred Skills

• Experience working with Azure Synapse Analytics
• Exposure to Azure Data Factory
• Experience in performance optimization and capacity planning
• Familiarity with DevOps and CI/CD for Power BI deployments
• Knowledge of Python or R integration in Power BI
• Microsoft certifications (e.g., PL-300)

Soft Skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Strong documentation practices

Education

• Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Technology, Data Analytics, or related field
• Relevant certifications in Power BI or Azure are a plus
