Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Generate and process bills for inpatient with hospital protocols and timelines.
- Verify patient information, including insurance coverage and prior authorizations/approvals, before initiating the billing process.
- Coordinate with clinical and non-clinical departments to collect accurate billing inputs such as treatment charges, consultations, diagnostics, surgical procedures, and pharmacy usage.
- Prepare and submit claims to insurance providers (TPAs/corporate/insurance companies), replying to post-dispatch queries
- Distribute interim bills to patients or attendants at regular intervals during hospitalization for transparency and financial planning.
- Dispatch final bills to the concerned parties (patients/attendants/insurance) promptly upon discharge or completion of treatment.
- Conduct thorough audits of generated bills to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with hospital policies and insurance norms before finalization.
- Handle billing-related queries from patients, family members, and third-party payers, ensuring prompt and effective resolution.
- Reconcile payments received with invoices generated; identify and resolve discrepancies or shortfalls.
- Ensure compliance with hospital billing policies, insurance protocols, and statutory financial regulations.
- Maintain comprehensive billing records and ensure timely updating of billing and payment data in the system.
- Collaborate with internal departments such as front office, medical records, and finance/accounts to maintain a seamless billing workflow.
- Support audit processes by organizing and providing required billing documents, reports, and clarifications.
