Junior Data Scientist / AI Engineer (Entry-Level) for Public Sector

Role Overview: As a Junior Data Scientist / AI Engineer, youll work on end-to-end data and AI projects from data collection and preprocessing to model development, evaluation, and deployment. Youll also explore the latest in Machine Learning (ML) and Generative AI (GenAI) to develop creative solutions for business challenges. This role is ideal for a recent graduate with hands-on academic or project experience in data science, AI, or ML, who is eager to continue learning and growing in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Collect, clean, and analyze structured and unstructured data for modeling and insights
Develop, train, and evaluate machine learning models for predictive and generative tasks
Experiment with Generative AI tools (e.g., GPT, Stable Diffusion, Llama, etc.) to build innovative prototypes
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, analytics, product) to integrate AI solutions into applications
Visualize data and communicate results effectively using dashboards and reports
Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in data science, AI, and GenAI
Participate in code reviews, documentation, and best practices for reproducible research
Qualification
Required Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field
Strong understanding of machine learning concepts (supervised, unsupervised, and deep learning)
Experience with Python and key libraries such as pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, TensorFlow or PyTorch
Familiarity with Generative AI models (e.g., transformers, diffusion models, LLMs)
Ability to work with data visualization tools (e.g., Matplotlib, Seaborn, Power BI, or Tableau)
Knowledge of SQL and basic data management concepts
Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
Strong communication and teamwork abilities
Preferred (Nice-to-Have):
Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
Understanding of MLOps, APIs, or model deployment tools
Experience with prompt engineering or fine-tuning LLMs
Contributions to open-source or personal AI/ML projects
