- Client Name: Turnkey Technology Partner for Advanced Cold Storage & Refrigeration Solution for various industries
- Position: Technician - Cold Room
- Department: Projects / Service
- Reporting To: Project Engineer / Service Manager
- Location: Site as per project requirement
Key Responsibilities:
- The Cold Room Technician is responsible for installation, maintenance, servicing, and troubleshooting of cold room systems, including refrigeration units, insulated panels, and control systems. The role ensures smooth operation, energy efficiency, and compliance with safety and quality standards.
Job Profile:
- Install cold room panels, doors, flooring, and refrigeration equipment as per drawings and specifications.
- Carry out preventive and breakdown maintenance of cold rooms and refrigeration systems.
- Diagnose and repair faults in compressors, evaporators, condensers, and control panels.
- Perform gas charging, leak testing, vacuuming, and pressure testing.
- Ensure proper insulation sealing to avoid temperature loss and condensation.
- Monitor temperature performance and rectify deviations.
- Assist during commissioning and performance testing of cold rooms.
- Coordinate with site engineers, supervisors, and vendors during installation and service activities.
- Maintain service reports, maintenance logs, and daily work records.
- Follow safety guidelines and ensure safe handling of tools, refrigerants, and electrical equipment.
- Attend site visits as required, including outstation projects.
Desired Profile:
- ITI / Diploma in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, Electrical, or Mechanical with 1 to 5 years of experience in cold room installation or refrigeration service
- Should have experience in food, Pharma, or cold storage projects preferred
- Relevant technical certification will be an added advantage
- Site-based role with travel as per project requirements
- May involve working in cold environments and at heights
- Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Willingness to work at project sites and flexible hours
- Team player with a proactive attitude
- Basic documentation and communication skills
Technical Skills & Knowledge:
- Knowledge of refrigeration systems (Split, Packaged, Condensing Units)
- Experience with cold room panels (PUF/PIR), doors, and accessories
- Understanding of electrical basics, wiring, and control systems
- Familiarity with refrigerants, pressure-temperature relationships, and safety practices
- Ability to read basic drawings and wiring diagrams
