Subsea engineers and technicians design, install, operate, and maintain underwater oil/gas production equipment, including wellheads, pipelines, and umbilical systems. They ensure technical integrity for deep water operations, providing on-site support to offshore teams, performing maintenance on subsea systems like riser tensioners, and conducting inspections.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
Design & Engineering: Create CAD models for subsea components, perform structural calculations (e.g., pipeline stability), and design underwater structures.
Installation & Maintenance: Manage the installation of wellheads and pipelines, and maintain subsea equipment to prevent issues.
Operational Support: Provide technical guidance to offshore teams during operations.
Inspection & Testing: Carry out regular checks on subsea equipment, including ROV systems and control systems.
Safety & Compliance: Ensure all procedures meet safety, environmental, and industry standards (e.g., DNV, API).
Documentation: Maintain up-to-date documentation for equipment, reports, and procedures.
