Job Description
Role Summary
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Software Test Engineer with 2 years of experience in both manual and automation testing. The role involves understanding business requirements, executing structured test cases, and contributing to automation framework development using Python and modern testing tools. The ideal candidate should have strong testing fundamentals and hands-on exposure to BDD frameworks and UI automation.
Key Responsibilities
- Understand functional and business requirements to prepare effective test cases
- Perform manual testing including functional, regression, integration, and system testing
- Develop and execute automated test scripts using Python
- Work with BDD frameworks such as Cucumber and Karate
- Contribute to UI automation using Playwright
- Apply basic OOP concepts while developing automation scripts
- Perform API testing and validate backend responses
- Log, track, and retest defects using Jira or similar tools
- Participate in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning and reviews
- Support CI/CD integration for automation execution
- Assist in UAT and release validation activities
- Maintain proper documentation and test traceability
Required Skills & Experience
- 2 years of experience in Software Testing (Manual & Automation)
- Strong understanding of STLC and basic SDLC concepts
- Hands-on experience in Python for automation scripting
- Exposure to BDD frameworks (Cucumber, Karate)
- Experience in Playwright or similar UI automation tools
- Basic understanding of OOP concepts
- Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodology
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Technical & Analytical Skills
- Manual testing methodologies and defect lifecycle
- Python scripting for automation
- BDD testing concepts
- Playwright for web automation
- Basic SQL for data validation
- API testing using Postman
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins or similar)
- Version control using Git
Nice to Have
- Exposure to data-driven or hybrid automation frameworks
- Basic knowledge of performance testing concepts
