Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
PostgreSQL & Aurora PostgreSQL:
- Architect, administer, and support PostgreSQL database environments
- Manage Aurora PostgreSQL clusters, including monitoring and performance optimization
- Perform user and role management, access control, and security administration
- Execute database refresh activities (Production to Non-Production)
- Monitor and tune database performance, identify bottlenecks, and resolve issues
- Manage backup, restore, and point-in-time recovery strategies
- Plan and execute PostgreSQL upgrades and patching.
Oracle Database:
- Administer Oracle database architecture (Single Instance; RAC knowledge is an advantage)
- Perform Oracle user management, roles, and privilege administration
- Handle Oracle database refresh activities across multiple environments
- Perform Oracle database patching in all instances.
- Monitor Oracle database performance and resolve production issues
- Support backup and recovery operations using RMAN
AWS & Cloud Services:
- Work with AWS Database Migration Service (DMS) for data replication and migrations
- Monitor database and infrastructure metrics using AWS CloudWatch
- Support databases running on EC2 instances
- Collaborate with cloud, application, and Dev teams for database-related activities
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 58 years of hands-on experience as a Database Administrator
- Strong expertise in PostgreSQL and Oracle databases
- Experience mass managing Aurora PostgreSQL in AWS
- Solid understanding of database architecture and internals
- Hands-on experience with user management, refresh activities, and production support
- Knowledge of AWS services: DMS, CloudWatch, EC2
- Strong problem-solving and performance tuning skills
- Experience with backup, restore, and disaster recovery
Good to Have:
- Experience with RDS PostgreSQL
- Experience with Oracle.
- Basic scripting (Shell / SQL)
- Exposure to security and compliance requirements
- Experience in 24x7 production support environments
