Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Systems Administrator who will function as a Lead DevOps Engineer /
Automation SME, driving large-scale infrastructure automation across global, hybrid, and
multi-cloud environments. This role blends deep hands-on expertise in IaC, configuration
management, and orchestration with leadership capability to define standards, mentor engineers,
and deliver automation at scale with operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead automation strategy, design, and implementation for infrastructure provisioning,
configuration, and compliance.
- Architect and maintain reusable Infrastructure as Code (IaC) frameworks using Terraform and
configuration baselines using Ansible/Puppet.
- Develop and maintain automation blueprints and workflows using VMware Aria Automation and
Aria Orchestrator.
- Guide teams in automating DDI (DNS/DHCP/IPAM), compute, network, storage, and virtualization
components.
- Define and enforce automation standards, code review practices, and CI/CD integrations.
- Integrate automation with ITSM processes using ServiceNow for service request and lifecycle
orchestration.
- Collaborate with global architecture, delivery, and operations teams to align automation initiatives
with business objectives.
- Troubleshoot complex automation failures across hybrid and multi-cloud platforms (AWS, Azure,
GCP).
- Mentor and upskill DevOps/Automation engineers through hands-on guidance and knowledge
sharing.
- Own delivery SLAs, shift coverage, and ensure operational excellence in a 247 support model.
- Drive continuous improvement in monitoring, observability, performance optimization, and
governance.
- Support virtualization and storage automation initiatives in hybrid environments
- Required Skills & Experience:
- 8+ years in DevOps, Infrastructure Automation, SRE, or Systems Engineering roles.
- Deep hands-on expertise with Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, VMware Aria Automation (vRA) and
- Aria Orchestrator (vRO).
- Strong scripting proficiency in JavaScript, Python, or PowerShell for developing custom
- orchestration logic and vRO workflows.
- Experience designing multi-environment, multi-cloud automation frameworks.
- Strong knowledge of Networking, DDI (DNS/DHCP/IPAM), and Security automation.
- Experience with Git-based version control, CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins / GitLab CI, and
- configuration governance.
- Hands-on experience integrating automation with ServiceNow.
- Working knowledge of PostgreSQL (basic level acceptable).
- Strong troubleshooting skills across compute, network, virtualization, and storage domains.
- Proven leadership, mentoring ability, and stakeholder communication skills.
- Willingness to work in a 247 environment and manage critical escalations.
- Good to Have:
- Exposure to compliance automation and policy as code.
- Experience in observability and monitoring integrations.
- Understanding of enterprise change and release governance.
