Role Overview
GVPR is seeking an experienced HSE Manager to lead and manage all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) activities for major Irrigation Projects/oil& gas/large diameter pipe Project.in Eswatini. The role is responsible for developing, implementing, and enforcing HSE systems to ensure compliance with statutory regulations, company policies, and international best practices.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Irrigation Projects/oil& gas/large diameter pipe Project., with a strong background in safety leadership, risk management, and environmental control.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain the Project HSE Management System in line with GVPR policies and project requirements.
- Ensure compliance with local laws, statutory regulations, and international HSE standards.
- Prepare and review HSE plans, risk assessments, method statements, and emergency response plans.
- Conduct site safety inspections, audits, and HSE performance monitoring.
- Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective actions.
- Coordinate with project teams, consultants, client representatives, and authorities on HSE matters.
- Monitor environmental aspects including waste management, pollution control, and environmental protection.
- Deliver HSE training, toolbox talks, and safety awareness programs.
- Track and report HSE KPIs, incidents, near misses, and compliance status.
- Promote a strong safety culture across all project levels.
- Advise project management on HSE risks and improvement measures.
Project Scope
- Must have experience in Irrigation Projects/oil gas/large diameter pipe Project.
- Must have experience in minimum 1000mm Dia of MS Pipe/DI Pipe.
- Preferably Gravity/Irrigation Pipe line.
- Roads and civil infrastructure works.
Qualifications & Experience
- B.Tech in Technical Field (mandatory).
- Minimum 15 years of experience in HSE management for Irrigation Projects/oil gas/large diameter pipe Project.
- Must have experience in SA/GCC/EU Countries.
- Strong knowledge of HSE legislation, safety management systems, and best practices.
- Experience in EPC and large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Proven experience leading site HSE teams.
- Familiarity with international HSE standards ISO 45001, ISO 14001, OSHA(Latest),ES(South Africa Standards) .
- Must have Knowledge of SANS/ANSI Standards.
- Must have experience in SA/GCC/EU Countries.
- Experience working with consultants, clients, and regulatory authorities.
