Job Description
The Regional Project Lead Workplace & Capital Projects, APAC is accountable for the end-to-end leadership, governance, and delivery of SAP s workplace and capital projects portfolio across the APAC region.
The role ensures predictable delivery outcomes, strong financial discipline, and alignment with global GRF strategies while responding to diverse country and business requirements across APAC.
Key Responsibilities
Regional Capital Project & Portfolio Leadership
Lead the delivery of a complex, multi-country portfolio of capital projects and workplace initiatives across APAC.
Own the full project lifecycle: feasibility, business case, design, procurement, construction, and handover.
Act as the senior escalation point for delivery risks, issues, and cross-country dependencies.
Capex Planning, Governance & Financial Discipline
Own regional Capex planning, prioritisation, and forecasting in alignment with global planning cycles.
Ensure strong cost baselining, cashflow planning, and cost-to-complete controls across all projects.
Maintain high forecast accuracy through structured monthly reviews and proactive risk management.
Ensure all project data and approvals are accurately maintained in global systems (PPM) and are audit-ready.
Workplace Strategy Implementation
Translate global workplace, hybrid work, and space strategy principles into regionally appropriate solutions.
Ensure workplace design, space planning, and change management initiatives support business needs and employee experience.
Drive space efficiency and utilisation improvement across the APAC portfolio.
Governance, Standards & Global Alignment
Ensure all projects comply with global GREWP standards for design, sustainability, branding, safety, and technology.
Actively contribute APAC insights, lessons learned, and best practices into global COEs and forums.
Support global initiatives related to project delivery models, tools, and process standardisation.
External Partner & Delivery Model Management
Lead and govern external PMs, architects, engineers, and contractors across the region.
Ensure consistent delivery models, performance expectations, and reporting standards.
Partner with Global Procurement on sourcing strategies and contract governance.
Stakeholder & Matrix Leadership
Work closely with the Global leads for Workplace and Capital Projects on process alignment with global standards, guidelines and reporting governance
Build strong alignment between regional execution teams and global/ regional functional teams (Workplace, Projects, ESG, Technology/ GPS/GPO/EC etc ).
Operate effectively within a matrix organisation, influencing without direct authority.
Team Leadership & Capability Development
Lead, mentor, and develop the APAC GRF and workplace teams.
Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Enable knowledge sharing and capability uplift across countries.
What you bring:
Education and Experience
Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
15+ years of experience delivering large, complex capital projects.
Proven experience leading multi-country project portfolios in APAC.
Strong financial, governance, and stakeholder management experience.
Experience working in a global, matrixed organisation.
