Head of Block-chain & Lending Technology (Crypto Credit Platforms)
Location: Hyderabad, India
Reports to: Head US Crypto-Based P2P Lending
Business: Q- Coin
Role Overview
QFund is building a production-grade, crypto-backed peer-to-peer lending platform for the US subprime credit market. The Head of Block-chain & Lending Technology will be responsible for designing, building, securing, and scaling the entire technology stack that underpins loan origination, servicing, repayments, defaults, and regulatory reporting.
This is a hands-on chief architect role, not a pure people-management position. The individual must be capable of designing systems personally, reviewing code and smart contracts, and making trade-offs between decentralization, compliance, performance, and cost.
Core Responsibilities
- Architect the end-to-end technology stack for crypto-based consumer lending, covering:
- Loan origination
- Stable-coin disbursement
- Repayment tracking
- Default handling and collections logic
- Design smart-contract and off-chain coordination frameworks to ensure:
- Deterministic loan lifecycle management
- Auditability for regulators and partners
- Build secure integrations with:
- Fiat on/off ramps
- ACH and RTP rails
- Custodians and wallets
- Ensure platform security, resilience, and compliance-readiness from day one
- Lead and mentor block-chain, backend, and DevOps engineering teams
- Work closely with credit, risk, and compliance leaders to encode policy into systems
Five Mandatory Technology Competencies
The candidate must have deep, production experience with the following technologies:
1. Smart Contract Platforms
Hands-on development and auditing experience on Ethereum-compatible chains (Solidity), including contract upgrade patterns and security controls.
2. Stable-coin & Wallet Infrastructure
Integration of USDC or equivalent Stable-coins, including wallet custody models, transaction monitoring, and reconciliation.
3. High-Scale Backend Systems
Experience building distributed systems using modern stacks (microservices, event-driven architectures) capable of handling high transaction volumes.
4. Payments & Settlement APIs
Direct experience integrating ACH, RTP, card networks, or equivalent US payment rails through API-first providers.
5. Security, Audit & Observability Tooling
Implementation of logging, monitoring, penetration testing, and audit trails suitable for regulated financial platforms.
- Formal training or certification in secure systems, cryptography, or distributed systems is strongly preferred
Required Work Experience
- 10 to 18 years of total experience in backend, fintech, or block-chain engineering
- At least 5 years in financial systems, lending platforms, or payment infrastructure
- Prior senior engineering roles in one or more of the following:
- Fintech lending companies
- Crypto infrastructure providers
- High-scale financial SaaS platforms
- Demonstrated experience taking a mission-critical financial platform into production, including responsibility for uptime, security, and scalability
- Prior exposure to regulatory audits or third-party security reviews is highly desirable
Success Criteria (First 1218 Months)
- Secure, audited platform launched on schedule
- Stable-coin-based lending flows functioning reliably at scale
- No critical security incidents
- Architecture capable of supporting rapid portfolio growth without redesign
