Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Irrigation Maintenance Manager to oversee irrigation systems and water management operations in Uzbekistan. You will be responsible for:
- Managing and supervising irrigation system operations and maintenance
- Overseeing the operation of pumping stations, canals, and water distribution networks
- Conducting regular maintenance and repairs of irrigation infrastructure
- Monitoring water quality and flow rates to ensure optimal performance
- Coordinating with field teams to ensure efficient water distribution
- Managing maintenance schedules and equipment inventory
- Ensuring compliance with water management regulations and safety standards
- Implementing improvements to irrigation efficiency and water conservation
- Troubleshooting and resolving operational issues
- Maintaining detailed records of operations and maintenance activities
- Training and supervising maintenance staff
- Reporting on system performance metrics and issues to senior management
The ideal candidate should have:
- 10+ years of experience in irrigation systems management or water resource engineering
- BE/B.Tech degree in Civil Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, or Water Resources Engineering
- Strong knowledge of irrigation infrastructure, water management systems, and agricultural practices
- Experience with pumping stations, canals, drip irrigation systems, and water distribution networks
- Proficiency in English, Uzbek, and Russian languages
- Strong technical and problem-solving skills
- Leadership and team management capabilities
- Knowledge of water conservation techniques and environmental standards
- Experience in project management and operational efficiency improvements
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities
- Excellent communication and reporting skills
